Cornfed river rocks



Looking a bit like creek-smoothed stones, a herd of turtles "hits the beach" for some cracked corn. Each morning I sprinkle scratch feed along the edge of the pond for the turtles and a few ducks that'll drop in to snack. The red-eared sliders come onto shore, grab a piece of corn, then must return to the water in order to swallow it. This constant back-and-forth results in a muddy turmoil at the water's edge after a while.

Yes, we even spoil our pond pets...
