Adding more color each day

The pine siskins are showing signs that they're serious about spring.

Picking up
and showing off
(and telling me off!)
more color every day.  Look at this guy!

We did not get an irruption of them this season. One winter, I had flocks in the hundreds!

they are so precious, i especially like the two photos with the wings fluttering. beautiful and glad signs of spring are there. this morning i stood and closed my eyes in the kitchen and listened to the doves cooing at each other, it was music to my ears.

Aren't birds the most easy, cheap intertainment there is? I love watching them.

Such birds! I really love the color under their wings when they're in flight. The stripes are amazing. Your new camera is turning out to be a real TREAT!

And ps... those are Texan pinecones... I was hoping you'd notice. :D

Wonderful! I can hear 'em scolding you and chirping and fluttering their wings.

I got to start looking at the "sparrows" that land here. I see Finches of all kinds but never knowingly saw a Pine Siskin. They are quite pretty at least to me. They don't seem to mind that 1950s green bathroom tile color on the feeder either. That's even more remarkable.

It is so neat getting to see Spring arrive by watching the birds change over to their Spring feathers right before our eyes! Great pictures!

You have pine siskins like we have goldfinches. It could be just anticipation influencing my imagination, but I think I'm starting to see a little bit of color in some of our male goldfinches too.

(Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comment.)
