Because I envy Nancy's Nebraska prairie grasses...

Every time Nancy at A Rural Journal posts photos of her prairie grasses, I ooh and aah over them.  There's only a couple of patches around here that resemble her russet waves of grass so I snapped these.  I think ours are more marsh grass than prairie grass, but hey, you've got to love the one you're with...

I daresay your Texas grasses look mighty identical to some of the beautiful pictures Nancy posts. This midwestern girl loves these pics!

I'm envious of anything that doesn't have snow on it right now--While I love the snow, ours has turned icey and ugly....Maybe we need another snowfall to cover it up??

I think your grass is beautiful. When I was at my Dad the last time, I was amazed at the things that just grow wild that we pay good money for. Just amazing.

Very nice. Doesn't really look like the marsh grass that we have. But....maybe ours isn't really marsh grass....??

Very pretty photos. Just goes to show that TX can be pretty in the winter too. I just love barbed wire fences. I'm going to have me some one of these days.

Hey Tex,
Miss Angel Kitty sent along your get well wishes-thank you very much! I'm tryin!

I like your photos even if your prairie grass doesn't quite look like Nancy's, but hey, you can always dream it does?

I do think dried out grasses though epitomize 'winter', don't you!?

I dare say, I swear I was looking out my back door. Something about prairie grasses that make you feel grounded or connected -- it's hard to explain -- but your photos give me the same feelings. :)
