Brown-headed cowbirds

These guys often mix in with the grackles and red-wings and get overlooked.  Today they'll get their featured moment at the feeder.

I never think to take photos of them ! They haven't arrived here yet but when they do our feeder empties very quickly. They are very hungry birds!

Whoa! Bird fight, second picture! Not my favorite birds, cowbirds. I don't like the way that they lay their eggs in other bird's nests. But, it seems to be an effective way to survive.

Grackles, blackbirds, and cowbirds are kinda like the gangsters of the bird world, especially when there's lots of them.
