I'm glad these guys have a warm place to go. I enjoy seeing them up north here in the summer but this winter...well, it's just not the place for them. Wonderful shots of these definitely regal birds.
It is a heron, a magnificent bird with a beautiful white feather.Great shots!Kisses.
Those of us who are surrounded by natural beauty are so lucky, aren't we? You have so much to see and wonder at. It must really enrich your life.
I love waterfowl. We're so fortunate to have ducks, geese, egrets and swans right outside our windows! They give me lots of blog material!Diannawww.thesedaysofmine.com
Were they looking at you? I like the pictures of them too.
I try and remember that about standing up straight! I'm always telling my daughters... legs closed when wearing skirts, shoulders back. I ought to show them this bird and be done with it! :D
Really nice shots!
This was beautiful images. I have never seen this before. So nice bird. Well done.Hilda
Hey TEx,I like the beautiful photos but moreso that you talk about their posture and you have that bra contraption that ensures good posture on your sidebar; was that by design? If so, very funny!!!
What kind of fish do you have in your pond? I see those heron down at our local creek eating what appears to be minnows.
Never! I took a lot of shots of these guys when we were down in Florida last winter.
never tired of your bird photos....
Clint - We have catfish, perch and a lot of minnows in our pond, so yes, most of the time they catch the little ones. The Great Blues seem to concentrate mostly on the larger catches like perch. :)Tracy - Google Adsense is too smart - it's programmed to look for key words in your posts and then tries to match ads to those words in order to maximize interest. So I guess posture = bra sales to them. :)
Love the Egrets. We don't get them here. Just the Herons
So beautiful. Most of the birds around here are sparrows (and those honkin' geese).
We get those here too! Okay girly who is ordering our weather? We need to talk (do away with) who ever it is!
We have a great blue heron who comes fishing in our pond. Someday, just maybe, I might get him on film. Maybe...
just beautiful! I never get tired of looking at them or seeing their pictures!!
Beautiful photos! Never tired of your birds!
Oh, I never tire of such things. I like his long neck. It matches his "nose".
Today while driving in northern California on business travel I saw thousands of birds on the flooded rice patties. I didn't stop to take pictures. But I LOVE your photos. Keep sharing!Katiehttp://pinkepost.blogspot.com
Great shots! Using the new camera, I suppose?Insufferable, huh? If it was anybody else I wouldn't let that slide. :-)
So regal and proud!
Tired of your gorgeous photos????? NEVER!!!! You capture their beauty and so glad you share with us!! You mentioned being SE of Dallas, I grew up SE of Dallas and only within the last four years moved to the Ft. Worth area. From a very small town and area...Kemp/Cedar Creek Lake. :) very cool!
Looks like you are having a good time with your new camera. :) Love these big, gorgeous birds.
I'd never get tired of seeing these beauties! The reflection of its body in the water is a neat detail. Magestic pose!xoxo
