I hope you're not tired of these guys yet...

I'm not.  They (and their Great Blue Heron cousins) are daily visitors to our pond.  So I tend to snap them a bit more these days.
 Great egret.

They're a fine example of what good posture can do for you.  From grumpy curmudgeon when they're hunched over to absolutely regal when they stand up straight.  :)

I'm glad these guys have a warm place to go. I enjoy seeing them up north here in the summer but this winter...well, it's just not the place for them. Wonderful shots of these definitely regal birds.

It is a heron, a magnificent bird with a beautiful white feather.
Great shots!

Those of us who are surrounded by natural beauty are so lucky, aren't we? You have so much to see and wonder at. It must really enrich your life.

I love waterfowl. We're so fortunate to have ducks, geese, egrets and swans right outside our windows!
They give me lots of blog material!

I try and remember that about standing up straight! I'm always telling my daughters... legs closed when wearing skirts, shoulders back. I ought to show them this bird and be done with it! :D

Hey TEx,
I like the beautiful photos but moreso that you talk about their posture and you have that bra contraption that ensures good posture on your sidebar; was that by design?
If so, very funny!!!

What kind of fish do you have in your pond? I see those heron down at our local creek eating what appears to be minnows.

Never! I took a lot of shots of these guys when we were down in Florida last winter.

never tired of your bird photos....

Clint - We have catfish, perch and a lot of minnows in our pond, so yes, most of the time they catch the little ones. The Great Blues seem to concentrate mostly on the larger catches like perch. :)

Tracy - Google Adsense is too smart - it's programmed to look for key words in your posts and then tries to match ads to those words in order to maximize interest. So I guess posture = bra sales to them. :)

Love the Egrets. We don't get them here. Just the Herons

So beautiful. Most of the birds around here are sparrows (and those honkin' geese).

We get those here too! Okay girly who is ordering our weather? We need to talk (do away with) who ever it is!

We have a great blue heron who comes fishing in our pond. Someday, just maybe, I might get him on film. Maybe...

Today while driving in northern California on business travel I saw thousands of birds on the flooded rice patties. I didn't stop to take pictures. But I LOVE your photos. Keep sharing!

Great shots! Using the new camera, I suppose?

Insufferable, huh? If it was anybody else I wouldn't let that slide. :-)
