More irridescent boys

Just like the grackles, when the sun shines on the Mallard fellas, they are stunning.
With the sun and the water reflecting the light, sometimes they look plastic or glass or like those old-time metallicy glass Christmas ornaments.
This photo's here just because I liked the rippled tree reflections.  :)
And one more shimmery one to make sure you get your daily dose 'o duck...

OMG I miss my lake and ponds! I owned about a 10 acre lake and 5 ponds on 80 acres when I lived in Missouri. Seeing these pics brings back some vivid memories - a bittersweet time in my life.
Please keep sharing your place - I love it.

Makes me want to pull on my boots and go tromping around a pond just a few miles up the road that has tons of ducks and wildlife.

Looks like the Mallards are having a parade! Wonder what they are celebrating. Probably the coming spring!

Great pictures as always!! But don't you sometimes wonder just what it is they may be thinking or saying to one another?

My neighbor to the north and my sister are both avid birders - i think I will send them over to your place because you have the ultimate bird haven!!! You should start a b and b for birders!

Gorgeous mallards! It will still be months before we start seeing our waterfowl return here in New York!

The Mallards are just rippling on.

I'm glad to see those pictures. Since the great hawk scare a week ago, the Mallards have been pretty scarce around here. I needed a fix.

Well, T, I see you have all your ducks in a row! LOL!
Do they nest there?

Ducks are always my favorites when I visit our local lakes but it's the reflections in your photos that I really love. Well done.

Excellent photo with wonderful light and very nice reflexes. And of course the cute little ducks in a row, males and females. Preciosa.

They look so perfect just gliding across the water.

Very Ducky! and love that rippling tree too. In the spring, I feed the ducks by the cabin and sometime have as many as 30-some, waddle up from the creek, Mallards and Wood Ducks...they too, have such gorgeous suits on. Thanks for sharing a piece of your heaven. Keep it coming.

Our Freddie (a mallard) is beginning to get his spring colors too. I do love these photos of the ducks swimming. :)

you sure can spot those boys coming.

It's not normal that the males are more beautiful than the females! I call it anarchy. :)
