My shopping tip for the day, week, year...

For those of you who want to buy sunflower seed feeders but don't want to pay the shipping on the fun jungle gym style feeder in my previous post (like I don't!), you can find these 'silo' type sunflower feeders at Dollar General right now!  They're $4.00 each!!!  I had one that made it through all last year (with a little re-wiring to keep the bottom on it after squirrels hang on them non-stop!)  When I saw more in stock last week, I bought 4 more!  For $4.00 each, I can afford a little tree rat entertainment!

This photo was taken after a squirrel had been tipping the scales.  Don't blame it on an obese chickadee...

Good deal :)

I lost two suet feeders to the squirrels this winter. Little daredevils even carried them off.

I may need to pick up a couple to put in the back. My cat loves to watch from a distance.

Wow, what a deal. They are well worth $4.00! I can't wait to see the first pic you take with a squirrels butt sticking out of the top! ha ha

Sounds good!

Pretty picture. Well, the squirrels also want to eat the food of birds, but may damage the feeder.

Thanks! I will take a look. I am wondering if the squirrel got himself a treat or maybe just used it as a springboard?

I used to feed the birds when we lived in a house with a larger backyard. I really enjoyed watching the birds (and the squirrels) eat. Our backyard at this house is entirely too small to share with the birds but I enjoy seeing yours.

Now, that's a much more likely price.

I went to get more sunflower seeds and for some strange reason the price had went up a good $4 a bag! I didn't buy it. I'll wait for a good sale.

Hey, Girl, thanks so much for the tip on the feeder. Love them...now, if only I can beat my sisters to the Dollar General...before they scoop all of them up. Gotta run before the store closes.

Okay, I see now in this post an answer to my previous question. Happy to see you have squirrels also. :)

When I read this the first time, I had an idea how to make these. I'll share on a future post. :) Glad you were able to find some of these feeders at a reasonable price. Good 'ol Dollar store!
