How neat! Lucky you! I've never seen one. :c) Have a glorious day my friend!
Beautiful! We have ducks here, but I've never studied them to know what kind they are. Guess I should take on that project!Diannawww.thesedaysofmine.com
Great capture of him in flight! What interesting colors. :)
It is so cool when you see a new visitor in your yard, I love it!
A drive thru duck.
Well that was kind of neat! I have never seen one of those around here!
Maybe your Northern Pintail will decide to nest in your wonderful pond. Is your pond spring fed and stay full year round down there where it can get so hot? Just wondering.BlessYourHeart
Your northern pintail is handsome. We have a wood duck and a mallard couple around here. Maybe I can get some pics of them later. Your pictures are fantastic!
I like the "inflight" in the last photo. spring is springing...
You got him just in time! He has such pretty colors.
I never even heard of one, but he is beautiful and unusual. Do you use a bird book or website or do you just have all this bird identification knowledge in your noggin?
Tex, That is really cool...isn't it fun to capture something when you least expect it? The 'in-flight' photo is marvelous! Good for you~Have a great day!
Obviously just stopping by the rest stop for a potty break and a cup o' coffee before hitting the road again. I've done that many times :)
Ha ha, Clint! :)Leslie - I have about 5 or 6 different bird books I (continually) refer to!!! Dar - I'm not sure if we have an actual spring to feed our pond, but we have a creek that runs along side it so it might get some spring feeding. We also get a ton of run-off from the front pasture and yard when we get heavy rains. We've lived here 9 years and have seen it get low, but have never lost it - whereas several neighbors lose their ponds in the hot Augusts here...
oh fun! And glad you got a photo too. We were at my parent's this weekend and there was an eared grebe on the lake - a new yardbird, I was excited. :)
Great photos of that faster than lightning Pintail. Just beautiful color and amazing that you caught him in flight! I've posted about Birds, too. I hope you'll have a chance to visit....Sue
Thanks for stopping by my blog, so naturally I had to check out yours. I'm lovin' all the bird shots and I am now signing on. Awesome banner photo which I assume is home. Looks peaceful. So what's up with the giveaways? Are these art pieces you did yourself? If so, excellent work! Looking forward to future posts.
I like your ducks. I seldom see one but one hen did land in my backyard a few years ago and we don't have any water. Truthfully I think she was looking for a place to lay her eggs. The problem with that is as soon as they are hatched out she waits three days and then marches them off to the nearest water. Here it is a long way for a little duck to walk to.
How cool to be able to look out your window and see this--All I've seen lately is that darn skunk!! :-))
I love the looks of this sleek duck.
So sweet! And did I tell you how gorgeous your header picture is? Run*A*Round is a dream!
You are so lucky! You get to see so many of God great creatures at your house! He's just beautiful! Hope he comes back!Tuesdays' Show & Tail!Angela
You have the best visitors.
