A post for my Sister

This one's for my Sis in Wis.  When she visited last summer, she developed quite the fascination for our grackles.  One could say she "took a shine to them" (pun intended).  They really are quite the beautiful birds with their peacockiness.

They add a number of lovely hues to the landscape when the sun shines.  Sort of like an oil slick.

"Yeah, I got it.  Uh huh.  I'm flauntin' it too."

Quite beautiful little guys they are! Their feathers are awesome when the sun shines on them.

I am with your sister. They live here in the Wal Mart parking lot because they love McDonald's french fries and other trash. A huge flock lives there. I have almost been run over because I was watching those grackles and listening to them and not watching where I was going. I tell them to come for a visit all of the time but they have yet to visit.

They are noisy and messy. But, they are beautiful to look at, and I can watch their antics for hours.

The photos are beautiful and amazing colors of blackbirds, like sharpness. I also like the description, such as oil stains ...

They are not my favorites...because they can scare off the others that I "welcome." We don't get too many here...thank goodness!...:)JP

They are pretty ~ and peacocky in a peacocky kind of way. When I was in Texas last week there was a big flock of them by my sisters place. I enjoyed watching them.
I just read your comment you left me about your "silly little drawing" ~ are you kidding me! That drawing is beautiful and you're a very talented artist ... the kind that inspires people like me to give it a try.

Gosh, they really are beautiful up close, I guess I never really noticed just how pretty they are because everyone talks about what a nuisance they are. We have a ton of them that land in the back yard once a day, they aren't even afraid of the dogs. Boy is my face red....I've always called them Krackles. LOL LOL!!! oops! See I learned something today. Grackles, got it. :) Beautiful photos!!

I don't mind them every now and again as long as they don't bring over 100 of their closest friends!

Very beautiful. I wonder if I'm not paying attention or if we simply don't have the selection of wildlife you seem to have. I wil have to start looking more carefully!
