I love the golden light of this particular afternoon.

We once had a Green Heron like yours at the cabin. We were so surprised to see him because we had not realized they do frequent our north area.
He is stately...loveum! Maybe they will nest by your beautiful pond.

Great photo, but I have yet to see a bad one from you! We get lots of herons since we aren't far from the water. They are pretty, but boy are the awkward fliers!!

He blends in so well. They always seem to do so. On my recent outing to Bodega Bay I walked right by one only a few feet away, not seeing it and felt silly for being so "blind".

It's interesting that the angle makes the heron's reflection easier to spot than the heron itself!
