Waiting for spring

We had some of these yellow-rumped warblers around the feeders in autumn and I hadn't seen them for a long time so I thought they had passed on through.  (What I had been calling warblers this winter were pine siskins!)  Anyway, maybe the real warblers are now coming back through on their way north!

And here a lone bluebird watches the skies for warm weather that will STICK!

We've had two GREAT days here.  I hope more to come!  Can't wait for the grass to green up and need mowing!!!

P.S.  Saw another flock of snow geese today, and this time they were heading NORTH!!!

Bluebirds are my very favorite. They're such a beautiful shade of blue! I've only once been able to snap a pic of one on our deck.

It's actually all the way up to 39 here. What a difference a few degrees makes. I can see snow starting to melt. Of course, two more months of winter here, so I will be living vicariously through you for a while yet.

We have a week of rain storms coming in now. But having one day of 70 degree weather was just like heaven. :)

Geese headed my way certainly means spring is coming!

Nice here today too--I saw a couple Red wing Blackbirds that I 'think' leave in the winter--I'm hoping that's a sign that they're just a little ahead of the spring!

Let's hope Spring isn't too far away !! It's very wet this side of "The Pond" at the moment. Wish I had Cardinals and Bluebirds in my back garden !!

spring still feels so far away here...except the other day (darn, didn't have my camera) I noticed buds on a tree at the doctor's office...that was just magical!

My husband said he saw some robins today, north of the farm. I told him they aren't here yet until I see one. :)

Reading all of these temperatures listed in the comments has me mourning! I was excited for 39F today which melted A LOT of snow on the prairie. We're in for the long haul. Green grass? Probably May. But keep those birds flying NORTH. I'll let you know when they get here.

Well if they're heading north, spring is soon here! Yay! We were outdoors a lot this weekend enjoying warm sun and popping corn in the forest. They're forecasting dreary rain for this week, but for now... vive le printemps!

Happy Valentine's Day, texwisgirl! Hugs to you. ;)
