Another Wiley

Another coyote sauntering through during the day.
Uh oh.  Here comes the rushin' army!

Zim, the horse, is completely undisturbed by the canine convergence coming to his corner.
After the coyote crossed over to the neighboring pasture, the dogs give the all clear and come back all loud and proud of themselves.
One last look around to make sure all is well (and to make sure all the neighborhood dogs admired their work.)

Oh, my dogs are jealous -- they so want to do that too when the coyotes stroll by, teasingly (is there such a word, don't know, but I like it).--Inger

Looks like they have everything under control.

Lovely Coyote, and I feel a bit towards the dogs, which I think they were only chasing it.

I am a little angry at the coyotes right now. Between them and the wolf we have been losing some calves. Never a pleasant thing. Nice shots. Good the dogs scare them away. B

A decent sized dog can handle a coyote pretty easily---but the problem is the possibility of rabies.

Good Guard Dogs! Pretty brave coyote to come sauntering through the pasture for all to see...they are not favored here and tread lightly.

Good that they are on the job.

No coyotes are going to strut their stuff on your dogs' territory!

Zim has the right idea. Just keep eating.

I have never seen a real coyote. The poor things have to eat but they did not have to come and eat Aflac, the white girl duck that we once had. She was sitting on more than a dozen eggs and the coyote took her during the night. I do not want to see them around here anymore!

Good job your dogs did!

Hello!! I'm so glad that my week is calming down and allowing me to catch up on your blog!

Of course I enjoyed ending my 'catching up' with this post! My dogs don't do this--They feel that standing out in the yard and just barking is work enough for them! :-))

Is the coyotes afraid of your dogs? From the pics it doesn't seem concerned about anything. But I know I am not seeing the whole story...

They did good :) We hear the coyotes every night, and see their tracks, but have yet to see one.

As much as I hate foxes, I can't imagine a coyote.

That's quite the guard crew you have. I must say I'm glad I have the dogs to keep guard also.

Your dogs do a great job! The coyotes that live on our dairy ranch seem to only come out at night and we can hear them howling at 3 in the morning just about every night. Great pics!

i'd like to imagine your dogs communicating via little headsets.

Great guard dogs! We've had problems with coyotes attacking small dogs here. I need your dogs to come protect my little Lucy :)

I often hear coyotes, but seldom see them. Our have evidently purchased all the state of the art Acme disguise gear.

I have been asked to shoot them on site - by the rancher neighbor to the north. They are not looked at fondly up here...

texwisgirl Good Morning! I found you thru Deb at Howdy From Cowtown. Love your sense of humor and then I was really sold when I read about your Catholic upbringing. Ooo-eeee I know about that! I am going to be reading you! I am going to do a little reading now, can't sleep.

We have some yelping coyotes here on the "tiny ten" in MissouREE but no good puppers like yours to show them off the property.

cool! I mean really Cool! love it. what you need is a donkey defender to scare off those sweet coyotes. or at least they are sweet to me, maybe not to the owner of horses.

I love how the coyote is sleeking around like he's trying to be oh so quiet because he knows the dogs will come after him. Dang it, to late I've been had.
Love it!!!
