Had one hanging around waiting while I filled the bird feeder Friday.

I can never get enough of these two.

They're so much fun to watch at the feeder. You remind me that I haven't seen any for a while. I hope that they come back in the Spring.

How sweet! I have a few that visit my feeder...however I can never get any photos because my dear boy, Hurricane insists he go out with me and it scares them all away. I guess I will leave the photos to the experts such as you and just watch them!

Nice job! Last spring we had a nesting pair of Downy's in a tree close to my classroom in Dallas. It was Great to watch the chicks develop & then leave the nest. Here's one of them (http://bluelionphotos.smugmug.com/Animals/Animal-Gallery/Woodpecker0241-Edit/867153355_GpqcM-L.jpg) Thanks for sharing!

Love to see the woodpeckers!

Such a handsome woodpecker, his colouring looks quite a lot like our giant kingfishers over here!

Love them both. I have just always been a tad jealous over why the male gets the red cap;)

We have some kind of woodpeckers here, they are goofy, the male likes to rat-a-tat on the metal side of my shed! They are fun to watch!

Your downy shots are nice to see. I get to see a lot of them all winter long. I seldom get to see a Hairy Woodpecker that looks like a downy but larger.

You have the most amazing birds! Very nice shot. I have tried to take pictures of birds I know how hard it is to get a clear shot. That is amazing.

Nice pics. Cool that you got the male and female in the same day. Maybe you'll be see babies soon! You'll have to get a picture for us if you do.
