Okay - I'll do a moon post

Have seen lots of moon posts around bloggerland this morning so I'll join in.  It was very orange as it first appeared but lightened up quickly as it rose from the horizon.
I like the power lines across its face.

There's my favorite starburst crater.
I thought it would have been perfect for one of our oft heard/sometimes seen coyotes to sit in front of it, but alas they were not present for the photo shoot.  Louise was there, but was not exactly cooperative.

"You want me to sit where?!"

I went out last night to see the moon and didn't even think about taking a picture. It sure was bright.

Great photos! Now, please someone... tell me the secret for taking good pictures of the moon. I fail, fail, fail every time! ;) Louise is adorable, by the way :) -Tammy

I am glad you got some of the pictures of it. I only got to see it just as it was rising. Then it went behind clouds and it lit up the sky but I wasn't able to see it. Now every time I see it coming up that song by Creedance Clearwater starts in my head, you know, "Bad Moon On The Right." Except all of my life I thought the words were A Bathroom on the Right. My kids and husband about died laughing but that is what I always sang.

Good moon shots. I saw it on my morning walk at 5:30---it was silvery and very clear and bright.

Sometimes dogs are like teenagers. They have to argue about everything! ha ha

Glad you got a nice shot of the moon. I tried but the camera wouldn't perform. It was a little weird looking, but pretty. The ground is still white and there was fog and the moon was so bright. Eerie, but beautiful also.

I guess Louise isn't the howling type. We didn't get to see the "Supper Moon", the clouds here are so thick we didn't even get its glow.

Beautiful! I missed it....because guess why? :)
(It's snowing....15cm today!)
So thanks for the photos....love the "coyote poser":))

I just saw pictures of this moon over Norway and I know you did too. I watched it out my back door and now I have a feeling of being united with my blogger friends even more. I guess that sounds a bit silly, but it is the way I feel. And Dawn, it is trying hard to snow here too.--Inger

Great moon shots, if there are coyotes around I don't blame the Louise for not sitting in the moon light

you need to throw back your head and howl too, louise! come on, cooperate for mom!

note to Farm Girl— i hope you don't mind my correcting you further! the song is "bad moon rising" and they sing "bad moon on the rise..." don't mean to make fun, but if your husband thinks it's "right", you can now turn the tables on him!

bathroom on the right...that's priceless!

Louise wasn't going to compete with those coyotes, I guess. A pretty smart dog in my book. I missed the moon rising as we had to attend a 50th birthday party. By the time we left, it was way up in the sky and looked like just any moon. Timing is everything.

I missed the moon last night....:( but I did pop up to the seafront this evening, I saw the moon rise over the sea, all lovely and orange, and within 10 minutes it has gone behind a cloud!! I took a couple of photos but my camera is just not up to moon shots. Your photos are great :)

I've yet to post my moon shots. I'd better get around to it pretty soon or else it will be old news.

I'm sure our dogs (and other critters) think we humans sometimes do the strangest things.

I'm glad you did this post, I really enjoyed your photos. It was cloudly here so we didn't even get a peek at the Supermoon.

Nice shot of that big moon. I was ready, but way too many clouds. It's good to see what others got.
