Red-Shouldered Hawk Revisit

I've not seen one this "oranged out" before.  Quite eye-catching...





The obligatory "fleeing the scene" shots I seem to do quite often.
I'm going to refer to these from now on as "fly byes".

The orange color is unique but the tail feathers are just so beautiful. I like the fly bye photo!

Very bright red shouldered hawk! My son, a falconer, admired this one. Bet the squirrels scurried away!

I never see that type of birds in Sri Lanka. I thought if you could capture them little bit closely.......

I've never seen one. at least not so close up. I love how the wings and tail feathers are spread and visible in the final photo. his color is gorgeous and I bet it must have been a lot of fun watching him. great captures!

wow...don't you get soooo excited. i have some great hawk pictures but they are pre digital so i am unable to share them. i don't see the hawks anymore and have never seen one with that kind of color!!! bravo!!!!

Very pretty Hawk. Love those white tail feathers. And the fly bye shot is very cool. Looks a little like a grouse tail.

Beautiful! I am always watching to see the hawks, they are so pretty! Mostly I see them on fence posts or power line post. :D

I can identify with "fly byes" I get that a lot. Most of the time they don't exit till I point the camera at them. LOL

WOW- that is awesome! I don't think I've ever seen one like that in these parts...
We have red-tail hawks around here- they strike fear into the hearts of my poor chickies.
