Black-belly in sunshine

Most times the black-bellied whistling ducks are under shade when they sneak up to the bird feeder tree.  Caught this one showing his feather detail in the sun.

They do have gorgeous markings. I don't think we have these around here. They seem to be enjoying that extra scoop of food. ;)

Fabulous pictures!!! I have to tell you that I was so intrigued by these ducks that I looked them up on the internet--I find them really interesting and so unusual too! THANKS for teaching this 'old dog' about something new!!

I love that you caught that bird in flight. I really like those whistling ducks. How could it be that I have never heard of those ducks until you started taking pictures of them?

That duck is colorful. We have a white variety here in the Philippines wandering freely. But they said we can see lots of colorful ones in the woods.
