We've all been having issues with Blogger lately. Problems with leaving comments, staying signed in or popping back to "Anonymous", now the Followers block is disappearing yet again. Up until today, I had limited issue leaving comments all around Bloggerville as long as I left the "stay signed in" box unchecked when I first signed in to Google. Well today Blogger keeps giving me "Service Not Available" when I try to post a comment, or it just hangs there, lost in space, then half the time takes my comment or eats it.
As this lovely free land of Bloggerville tests our patience yet again, won't you PLEASE consider taking Word Verification off of your blog? That would surely save some of us from even more blood pressure spikes. ESPECIALLY if you also moderate your comments before you allow them to post (sort of like a double deadbolt on your blog! Seriously?!)
I took Word Verification off many months ago and almost never have an oddball comment or spam link or any issues. I don't allow Anonymous comments on my blog and that prevents a lot of worries, I think. Please check your settings if you're not sure how your blog is set up for comments.
Go to your Dashboard.
Then the Comments tab.
JUST SAY NO to Word Verification!
And, while you're at it, please change your comments placement position to Pop-Up window or Full-Page rather than Embed Below Post. So often, Embed Below Post causes issues and is known to rile feathers with page reloads while you're trying to type in a comment.
In addition, if the Followers block is gone from a blog that you've discovered and would like to sign up to follow, there's usually a menu bar appearing at the top of your page when you're viewing a Blogger blog, and you can click Follow there and sign up without the Google Friend Connect block appearing on the blog's side-bar.
If Blogger keeps up like this, I'll be forced to forego leaving comments like I try to when I come by to visit. And that just takes all the fun out of blogging, doesn't it?!
I know I'm not the only one out here struggling through all this mess. So please, streamline your comment process as much as possible. Please?! THANKS!
