More Hodgepodgery

Another juvenile hawk.

His 3rd eyelid (nictitating membrane) was closed.
One of our doghouses - this one came with the place when we bought it.  Obviously designed to 'match' the house although it only has 6 sides instead of 9.  We've had it re-roofed and re-painted.  Almost time to repair it again.
(Allison, this one's just for you!)
A young scissor-tailed flycatcher.

The pond is low.  We need lots more rain.
Turtles on a muddy beach.

And piled on an old tire that should be underwater.
And this shot is less about the butterfly but more about the light-play across the deck.  Just liked it.

And let's throw in something furry just because...
Thelma Jean getting her beauty rest on the doggie pull-out.

wow, I've a lot of catching up to do here. first, I love the soulful photo of Sweet Louise. what a charmer, wish I could give her a kiss. and thanks for the tour of the place you call home. love the Golden Pinecone! it looks so comfy and I just know without even seeing the details that it has your personality all over it! seeing the photos of the low pond puts a wrinkle in my brow - hope you get some rain real soon. summer is just beginning and there's a whole lot of hot days ahead, and those turtles, among other things, need a spot to live and play! and I love that doghouse!!! happy Sunday to you.

Thelma Jean seems to be enjoying her afternoon nap. Cool hawk! I would love to send you a little of our rain. We can't seem to get it to stop here. The garden, which looked so beautiful last week, is slowly becoming a carpet of green. If it would only dry up enough to get the tiller in there. I'm sending rain vibes your way.

Thelma Jean looks like she's had a hard day. I'm always up for a nap so she can come snuggle up with me any old day.

Hodgepodgery? Don't start getting too uppity with the King's English or I won't be able to read your blog (not really sure that's a word, anyway). :-) Love the hawk shots! TJ looks perfectly content.

You know... and I was thinking as I saw that picture... "can't you just dismantle that thing and send it on over? Heck...you don't NEED it!" :D I'm so selfish. hehe

THANK YOU!

Nice assortment of pictures. Of course I really had to look over the turtles and love the 6-sided dog house.

scissor tailed fly catcher is cute!

I have a new route to follow on Sundays - it's a "new' area - at least to me - so, the birds are different than the visitors in my back yard. These things cause me to think of you.

Oh! maybe two summers ago i took a summer course at a nearby college - and they had barn swallows there . . they flew around and talked to each other - I enjoyed them far more than the class . . I learned the custodial staff considered them a nuisance . . . hmmm . . me? to this day i consider those swallows the most delight part of my visits.
