When pigs fly...

I got a new birdbath.  A couple of our older cement models had been leaking, so I stopped at a favorite "treasure" shop on the fringe of Dallas to look around.  Here's the metal birdbath I bought.
I've bought things there before, like one of the cement bird baths and also our metal gazebo.
The man who works there remembers me each time I stop by, remembers where I live (since they had to deliver and assemble the gazebo), and asks me if I'm still enjoying the gazebo.  Well, as I pulled the car up so he could load the birdbath in the trunk, he included one of their metal flying pigs - just because I told him I thought they were cute and that they made me smile.  He made my day!!!

So this little flying pig sits in a flower bed near the front door, and now makes me smile every day!  Thanks, "Wolfman"!

Isn't it great when you get a little something extra? Flying pigs, who'd a thunk?

I like the different colors and the texture of the metal.

That is so cool looking. Me, I would suspend him from a low tree limb with clear 10 or 20 pound monofilament fishing line and let him really fly in the breeze. "Be free little piggy."

The bird bath is beautiful, but, I think that the real find of the day is that pig. He is just too cute for words.

I'm amazed by how much your stuff looks like things I have. Except I don't have a pig with wings, but now I want one. I have one of those bottle trees, a similar birdbath and gazebo. Love that pig!

i believe you own the prettiest, biggest garden out here in blogland, my friend. I feel a bit ashamed to tell you my envelope is still not in the air, know it will find it's way to your doorstep. If only I could find a way to put more hours in the day o xx o xx o xx o

Awesome!

The bird bath is perfect. I love the detail of it's base and the birdy on the top. Very, very precious.

I also like that lovely gazebo, and the detail of that dried stump in the back. I like the mix of new, old, dead, alive, past and future.

The flying pig is a treasure! How cute! I am happy for you, T.

Nice birdbath. How sweet of him to give you the pig!

i love the new bird bath, i have an addiction of sorts to bird baths & garden ornaments.

random acts of kindness and kind souls at garden shops seem to go together!!!

everyone at my garden center alway remembers me, perhaps because when i go i am there for hours!!!

I love it! Reminds me of Flo from Mel's diner. I once took a picture of a flying pig but it was different than this one.

What do I have this feeling you sow love around you wherever you go? You sow the love and then it all comes back to you in metal pigs. You're wonderful... and I hope you know it. xo

I've seen your profile photo several places around Bloggerville, and wanted to just stop by and give you a big Texan Howdy-do!! I so love the flying pig. What a great gift of generosity. And your birdbath is fabulous.

Is it as hot up there as it is way down in Coastal Texas?!!!!

Cool pig! There is a junk shop near here that is much the same. Really nice guy. Very interesting stuff. Some junk; some treasures.
Oh, and I think we have the same patio table.:-)

Neat gazebo and birdbath and I love your flying pig! Okay give just where is this shop? I am thinking, the fringe of Dallas. Is it off 20? I can think of one place but we stopped there once and they really didn't have stuff like this ... mmmm

I have that same bird bath, but one of my chickens knocked the metal bird off!

Love the pig sculpture. That was so thoughtful. :)

I love your gazebo! How nice to receive a flying pig as a bonus when you got the lovely birdbath. Here in Cincinnati, because of the city's history of meatpacking, the flying pig is a familiar icon, with statues all around. Cincy is also home of the Flying Pig Marathon!

First you tell me I can't paint my Blue Bird house because the birds will not like it, and will not nest in it. I almost fell over laughing at this one, LOL.
Would you just look at this monster. So you think this will draw birds to the bath. LOL just kidding. I think I might be getting ready to sand the B B
box. Great Post Darn It, LOL.
God Bless.
