Young squirrel

We have a new batch o' squirrels around here.  They show up 6 or 7 deep most days at the feeders (I swear, it's like "Invasion of the Seed Snatchers").  But you've got to admit, they're so darn cute.  This little girl was so 'new' looking with her baby-soft, peachy fur and petite build.  I just wanted to pet her...

Didn't take her long to learn the "hang upside down and grab the sunnies" trick, did it?

Oh my, she IS cute! Not much in the way of squirrels around these parts, they don't seem interested in hanging out with Callie. Can't figure out why? ; )

I have a love/hate relationship with squirrels. I LOVE yours but hate the ones that eat my feed. This newest one of yours is really cute.

Wow! If I tried to eat upside-down it wouldn't make nearly as cool a picture.

Cute! I thought they may hang upside down once in a while out of necessity. This guy seems to prefer this position.

You can't beat Squirrels when it comes to finding a way to get at a feeder, no matter how hard it may seem at first. Great animals.

Very cute and I would want to pet them too. You know in the movie It's A Wonderful Life, Uncle Billy has a pet squirrel. I have always wanted one too.

Your photo series really does show us just how agile these little critters are. He was certainly determined to get come of that bird food. How in the world does he hang like that without falling....amazing. An impressive post. Genie

Such an apropos post--I have been doing the Battle of the Varmints for weeks now. There is no stopping them--I've moved feeders and installed baffles on top of baffles. Their ingenuity is awe-inspiring --and you are right--they are just too cute! Great shots! I love her peachy belly, too. Oh to reach out and tickle!

I understand people's frustration with these tenacious little beasties but you just gotta love them. They have so much personality and spunk.

She is a beautiful little girl. She may be young but looks like she was a fast learner when it comes to raiding the bird seed.

As annoying as they can be, I have to admit that they are very cute and I love watching their acrobatics. Great series of photos of this very talented seed stealer.

She is lovely! I enjoy the squirrels' antics too! Surprisingly, they haven't been much of a problem at the bird feeders this year, even though we no longer have Gracie, our squirrel chaser extraordinaire!

I wish I was that limber! *hehe*
