great pictures... beautiful dogs... hope you all get some relief from the heat soon
I see you're supposed to get some afternoon showers today. And they're callin' for a high temp of 106. Pretty steamy. Better keep those pooches inside with the A/C runnin'.
The alarm went off at 5:30 this morning...ugh...it is NOT a school day! Have been busy on the computer ever since trying to get caught up on my commenting. Your dogs really make me grin. I cannot believe they threw in the rag and came inside. They definitely look like guys on a mission...though we might have a girl or two here. I love the way you caught them in all sorts of poses....such a fun post. Thanks so much for all of your comments on Bud’s pictures. He may hit the border today or in the morning...but I think it will be today. Then he will fly home on Thursday for us to leave for the beach on Saturday for a week. I am more than ready to have him home. This old place is whopping toooo big for me to look after on my own. genie
these are all making me smile as unusual but that last one the expression makes me LOLyour poor pups probably wonder what is up with all the HEAT and no pond
Yes,they do look determined.
No to królik miał szczęście, że Twoje śliczne psy go nie złapały. Pozdrawiam
Persistence pays off.
Yep...those wabbits lucked out this time.
Hey! Is it my white bunny, Ground Effects? Okay, there's no way he could've made it to Texas. Unless, an owl deposited some of him. ;)
Great looking dogs!
I need such persistence here. We have a rabbit family living under our storage shed. They hop out in the yard as if they own it. Willie ignores them. Silly dog!
You are delightful to wake up to!GOOD MORNING
Catch any scuttle-butts???
My Sophie lays on the porch and looks at the white rabbit that has decided to make our yard it's home. I'm fine with that. I would just be happy if she would take care of some of the squirrels ;-)
Too funny. We have cottontails here in town, and the neighborhood dogs are always chasing them. They run for cover under our neighbor's shed.
You're dogs are hilarious! They sure do keep themselves entertained. :)
Big mean dogs. Next they'll be hunting goats!
ooooohhhhh boy, they mean business!! persistance as a team!! "you take the back, i'll cover the front"!! t....they are soooo beautiful and must be such great company for you. better then children....they don't talk back, they don't take your cars keys or ask for money. all they do is love you!!!
We have a lot of rabbit hunting going on around here. So many rabbits!
Silly pooches! I can relate, we've got two dogs who chase after every creature in the universe. Fortunately, the rabbits have been to quick for them. Cute, fun images!
What beautiful dogs you have, although I`m happy the `wabbit` got away (this time). Lovely post.
Poor roasted dogs!
Aww, those wascally wabbits!!!Bet your dogs were fun to watch. : )
We have rabbits in the wild space at the back of the property. I was seeing them in my neighbor's yard and ours nearly every day up until about a month ago.
My dane is afraid of rabbits. She ran to get one and it turned, got on it's hind legs and screamed at her. There isn't too much that she isn't afraid of though!
Hi Theresa, I read your other posts I have missed--and laughed about the gelding problem. I wonder if that little gelding will 'live' many more days if he keeps bothering you. ha haYour pups certainly have plenty to keep them busy down there, don't they????? Hunting squirrels and now wabbits is a fulltime job!!! haHugs,Betsy
Your dogs are persistent if not successful. Lol.I've nominated your blog for an award. Hope that's ok. Have posted about it this morning.
Hi,very nice strong dogs, great pictures. salute Crissi
Lucky wabbit! LOL!
Gotta give them an A for effort. That's hot work chasing rabbits!
Ah, they are persistent, aren't they -- in spite of the heat!! Love it! Hope you have a good day, wish I could send you some of our cool air!!Sylvia
So do you antagonize them? GET IT! GET THE RABBIT!!
Those wascwy wabbits! Your dogs are handsome critters.
That's too funny! You can see how excited the dogs are in the first several photos and then you see them losing interest and getting hot! Nice series! (I hope they don't ever catch the wabbit!)
Bless their hot little hearts!
Wait until the next time, you Wascally Wabbits!
Next time they get it. Nice post! Have a nice week to you and your dog.
Those wabbits are smart…and sometimes desperate! Nice group of dog's waiting…and watching shots.
Looks like the troops were on a mission!
Good sport for doggies! Keeps 'em out of trouble.
Too cute! Moon and Copper have been going through the same thing ALL SUMMER...we have bunnies everywhere, front yard, back yard, side yard, when I return from walking in the morning...a virtual explosion!...:)JP
"Which way did he go?""Ahh, let's stick to scamper rats from now on."
I didn't think they would give up. They looked like they were on a real mission.
I agree with the dogs."It's to hot to Wun Wabbits" LOLThe dogs are verry smart.
Sherpa the Farm cat went huntin' wabbits once but all he caught was Buster Brown the goat
This is too funny, love how you captured the "hunt"...sure wish you would get some rain and cool off.
They obviously make a great team. Lucky for the rabbit, indeed.
Those wascal wabbits!! Smart dogs to opt for AC. lol'love & hugs from afar'
T, poor bunny! Lol
There is nothing better than chasing rabbits and squirrels - our dogs completely agree.
i can't believe how hot it is by you yet those dogs keep at their posts! these pix should be in the dictionary next to the word "determination".
Love all the action shots!
Our big dog, Buddy, gave up chasing the rabbits since he could never catch them anyway!
I love this. Patience is a virtue...at least for the wabbit. ;)
Hi Texwisgirl, Fun story of your pups' hunt. That is one animal I have not yet seen in my neighborhood this season at all. Last year we had oodles of little Cotton-tailed bunnies, but this year, zip. Probably for the best. I think we have a resident fox that has reduced the rabbit population considerably - possibly Coyotes, too! Have a super nice Sunday and a fantastic coming week!
Glad your dogs were smart enough to give up and come inside where it's cool!
I like your scrap wood pile!!! You have some lovely treasures in there. Boy could I go crazy.I hope your dogs had fun too.
It looks as if those dogs provide you with some fun moments! Great photos.
Somebody doesn't want to give up!
those faces make me smile :)...lucky wabbit....
Those are well-fed dogs....I can only imagine how the heat must be for them when they are rabbit-hunting, too! Love the images.
They could be there for a long time. Great blog.
Hehe. I'm still holding out for rain in Texas... I can feel it comin'! Then the doggie-doos won't be so dang tired.
The dogs look pretty content with keeping the rabbits in place. Yo, mom, can we get some water out here? This is hard work! We've been enduring thunder and lightning most of the afternoon. Not much rain, but a lot of noise.
A wonderful post T.Your dogs are beautiful to see and lovely read about.
Love those doggies!
Ha woudn't it been fun if the wabbit would sneak out while you were snapping pics and the dogs woudn't have noticed because they were posing for you!?! I think that would be funny! And if it was our dog, it surely could have happened!ThanksLeontien
Those rascally old wabbits aren't gonna last much longer if they keep it up! Those pups of yours are gonna have wabbit stew for dinner real soon I'm sure! lol
Great (if slow motion) chase! Imagine having that energy in that heat. I bet they really appreciate getting to be inside with the AC
so even the doggie dudes go for that AC huh? love those ears.
Your dogs were serious about this job.
Beautiful dogs and photos!!!Greetings and nice week:)
There's one in every crowd -- never say give up. :)
Your dogs are absolutely adorable. They also look about as fierce as my two couch taters... I mean wabbit hunters :) -Tammy
Dearest TexWisGirl,Oh this is the game and they're so dedicated to wait and snatch their rabbit(s)... Lucky for the heat (at least for the rabbit's fate!Love to you,Mariette
Wun wabbit wun. :) B
Elmer never got the wabbits either lol. Great pics T.
1-0. The rabbits won this time.
What BIG, beautiful, cute, and funny dogs you have!
Dogs 0: Rabbits 1?
It's too hot for the dogs or the rabbit today. Better to hunt another day.
Love your site, your musings are fun to chuckle over with you
Oh my they sure were --"on guard"!!!!
Wow, how many dogs do you keep?
I was just looking back on so many missed entries, been very behind in my readings, sorry, anywhos, I see not only the dogs are intent on their mission...Zim is insistent too, and the birds and squirrels...The TX drought has been horrid this year and Your pond has cracked edges but it has not held you back from doing what you can for the critters...you go girlBlessYourHeart
Well I could sure use your dogs at my place as this is the time of the year the pack rats start moving into all the building. We have been without a dog for 2 years now. Our last dog always let us know when a pack rat had moved into a building as he would tear things apart looking for them. Would help flush them out so hubby could shoot them. Well happy hunting to the dogs. Have a wonderful week and hope you get some rain soon.
Beautiful dogs and lucky rabbits...
Love those doggies! great blog!ciao, Luis
They look pretty determined but looks like the heat won this time. I love those expressions, especially the last one.
Cute and determned pups! I am glad the wabbit won this time. Great series.
send over to my house.. those darm wabbits have eaten what is left of my garden
Oh, they're just gorgeous - can see how hot they are after their exertions. Another day ;D)
What can you do but wait? They do look hot.
You've got some very fine dogs. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
they do look hot
Your dogs are certainly a patient lot!
Those girls sure are persistent!
Be vewy, vewy quiet!
You can definitely say they gave it their all! Glad the wabbit got away - this time. ;)
i'm with the dog who came in for the A/C...it's just not worth it! not THAT day, anyway!
I love it when dogs get this focused look in their body language and their eyes. They've got a purpose, and they're going to see it through!
my gawd...I found myself panting with the dogs as I look at the pictures, hahah....is that called "sympathy panting"
