oh wow...this heat is plum miserable!! poor little guy.
Exhausted! Too much work eating all that bird seed!
Must be comfortable!! :)
there are days I feel like that too!!!!
Oh, man, that is so sad. Why don't you put a fan on him? The least you could do! xo Jenny
Isn't that like when you put babies over your legs to help them with gas or something? Maybe he's just stretching his stomach to make more room!
Wait! Is he dead? Or just passed out? Get that boy a V-8!
Is that a squirrel belly ache moan I hear? Poor guy. Maybe he would like some Alka Seltzer or a swig of Pepto Bismol.
YOU may not have shot him, but I was ready to shoot Buddy at 5:30 this morning when he showed up at the train station withOUT his driver’s license. 2 days ago I took his license off the bedside table and told him he needed to take it when he promptly said it was an old one and his current one was in his billford....NO need to check. And, no, it was not there this morning. Thanks goodness I MDE him take the passport because I thought he might want to spend a night in Canada. What would these men do without us? I just grinned and helped him find the passport and that did it. I am going to mail him his driver’s license in one of his food boxes so he will have it in case he loses the passport. Hikers are definitely a different breed. Already I miss him so. At the moment he is in Penn. Station and will leave at 3:30 for Vermont. Tomorrow the hike begins. thank goodness I came on over to my son’s to be m=with my granddaughter or I would have been so sad. I just want everything to turn out perfectly for him. Thanks for your interest. Hugs, Genie
You have the funniest squirrels! And you know just exactly how to describe them! Just too hot for him/her, I guess.
that's how I feel every time I go outside lately....
How strange...I wonder whats wrong!
Maybe it's a ploy, did all the lady squirrels come running to make sure he was ok?:@)
When it is hot over there, you moaned about it, so, in the winter, what do you do, moan a lot more. The squirrel is hanging about.
Poor guy, the heat just got to him. I know there are days I feel just like that.
If I had to wear a fur coat in the kind of heat you have, this is exactly how I would look too.
An amazing series that way you got this squirrel in such strange behavior. Now you must finish this story…did he wake up and move from there, or does he still hang there?
T..doping your squirrels for blog photo ops?! ;)I'm with Kerry..fur coats in that TX heat would be a killer!
What have you put in those seeds, hahaha?! Poor thing! Although, I'm kinda feeling that way myself today!
He's just hot and tired. I'd be draped over somethin' too!
That's called 'just hanging around'.
T, so funny! I can just hear it saying "dang, it's hot!"
Maybe he's constipated, T...:)JP
I'm hoping we'll have "the rest of the story" tomorrow...?And I love MarieElizabeth's comment!
He does look dead, not a bit less adorable, though. I think I know what he was feeling. Sometimes, after a big meal, I also feel like falling somewhere and just staying like that - plop flat on my stomach!Love ya, girl!
wow! that's really amazing shots of squirrel...beautiful shots.
that's just wacky. heat related, perhaps...?
That's just strange. But then again, I actually feel like doing that when I go out in this heat too.
Oh wee thing. Whether it's the heat or a sore stomach - you gotta feel sorry for him.
Sometimes you just gotta take a break. ;)
Ty się nie tłumacz, tylko przyznaj się od razu co jej dosypałaś do jedzenia, że taka wykończona i pada. (Oczywiście to żart :-))).) Pozdrawiam cieplutko
Poor little guy, suffering from heat exhaustion! Funny looking though...
Oh, the poor critters. My Mom lives in Oklahoma and was telling me that it has been so hot for so long that she has been finding dead hummingbirds on her window sill. She has been adding chilled nectar to the feeders a couple times a day, and has put a safety fan on her patio. She said they line up on a wire in front of the fan with their little tongues hanging out.
Sic the hounds on him. That'll get him to come alive. Well on second thought, the hounds are probably doing the same thing as that rodent is.
Looks like heat stroke...poor little feller is hot.
That's a first -- you sure he's not dead??
i think he's dead or dramatic or maybe he's playing dead!!why is it that everything we see, we take a picture of?? one of my bat's is dead, right there in my garden. i have my camera in my hand thinking, should i take a picture?? then i think, what's wrong with me....i have 3,700 picture's i still need to share....do i really need to take a picture of a dead bat!! i'm not sure anyone even enjoyed the post about them when they were alive!!! i have issues!!!!
Girly I know how that poor little guy feels. I went out for about 10 minutes a bit ago. Well I can honestly say 110 degrees is like breathing air from a hair dryer! I don't know bout you but I have sooooooooo had enough of this! I know, whine whine whine.. but mercy me.
Poor little guy! Wonder if you sprayed him with water if it would have revived him? We are on day 52 of triple digit weather and even longer without rain. I think of all the animals around and wonder how they are making it.
I think your squirrels and birds know if they act cute you will take their picture.
I know the feeling. It's HOT out there.
poor little guy...it must be the heat !!!!i hope and prays it breaks for you very soon..kary and teddyxx
Great picture!I feel the same way! Way too hot to move!
Poor squirrel but cute photos. I guess it is way TOO hot there in Texas.
BTW,, I love the Texas rain gauge! LOL!!
I love the way he has positioned himself so he is just out of reach of the dogs lol.
Are you sure he is not teasing the dogs??? A squirrel, who might have been Mama before we made each other's aquaintance used to get just the other side of the fence to tease Sarah's dog. It was so funny to watch. Then Mama Squirrel and I made friends, and she definitely knew the difference between our two dogs...but I never seen her tease Sarah's dog again, so just don't know.
my guy used to tell our girls the squirrels had a lot of heart attacks around our place!!?!!
Poor guys, stuck in those fur coats. You humans have it rough there right now, but I can't imagine what the animals are going through.
LOL ... that just illustrates how hot it is in Texas!
I know that squirrel! That's Earl and he ain't been right since he figured out how to get my heathen brother's beer cooler open. He's just showing off.
Eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat sleep. Sounds like me!
They are such entertaining creatures.
ummmmm belly ache?
All this time I thought cars were their only enemy...it's pretty bad when even the squirrels can't take the heat!
rofl thats funny
Oh my, Did he ever get up and stay up?B.
...Maybe he had too much..Costas
Oh my gosh that looks like me in the heat!
Somethings wrong with that critter! lol
maybe his father was a possum :)
oh wait, that would be hanging by his tail. hmmmm, maybe we're just jealous he can make himself into a hammock :)
To many bird seeds I bet!
Everyone took all of my best wisecracks, so I'll just sit back and admire the photos. :)
Your pics can always give me a good mood, love ly squirrels. Have a nice day!
ok, that's just weird! Poor little guy just couldn't take the heat anymore. He was probably trying to tell you to get some water. :)
Uh, sure looks dead! Hope he gets up and eats again soon!!
How funny! You'd think he'd get a headache or something.
Is it just me or is that one BIG squirrel?!
It's the heat. It will do it everytime!
odd little squirrel. glad he got up again.dan
Hanging around a little bit after the meal *laughing* What a funny little guy.Have a great daygreetings
I'm a witness. You shot him. With your camera. Poor fella, the heat must be hard on them.
Oh wow. That is kind of funny but kind of sad.Did he ever get up again? He's HUGE!
One tired squirrel! lol
May I share the photo with my friends? xo Jenny
Too funny! If we lived outside in a fur coat we might look like that too.
I love squirrels, so sad that doesn't exist in Portugal squirrels through the trees, they are so cute l! Your photos delight me :)have a nice day.oa.s
I think it's given up to the heat.
I like Patti's comment..."you shot him with your camera"...Is he posing? Get him a cell phone.
Poor little thing. I love his little hands!
Good grief! That would give me a scare for a second I think. :)
BWAAAHAHAHA!"Goodbye, cruel world..."
Strange! Wonder what he'd say if he could talk!
OK, you officially have weird Squirrels :D
LOL! Wow! That's the funniest thing I've seen in a while! Never in my life have I seen a tree rat hang over a branch like that! I think your squirrels have become domesticated.
That is the most comical thing I have ever seen! You have the BEST animal stories to tell! (I hope he was OK . . .)
Very strange behaviour. Maybe it had eaten too much and was chilling out?
Poor little guy. He needs a fan!
Ugh. Did something eventually grab it and eat?
uh...part 'possum??(am i the only one that notices...his squirrel jewels? i mean they're right there...in your face...or am i the only one (childish) enough to mention it??!...you don't have to answer that one!!) :)
Poor little fellar! He IS still alive, isn't he? I guess the heat and no rain is just as hard on the critters.
I can't believe all the things you see there! That is so funny. I've never seen a squirrel do that, but the ones here at my house will stretch out on the porch rail and take a nap.
