Friday's Fences

I am beginning to enjoy taking photos of fences and gates themselves, rather than just putting a fence in front of a subject.  :)

And this one cracked me up.
Of the 5 vehicles I saw parked in the drive (a pickup, 2 sedans and 2 sports cars), all of them were Chevys.  I can only assume/hope the family owns a dealership.

Thanks, Jan, for hosting Friday's Fences

A good job of framing the gates.

It would have been funny if all the vehicles parked at the Chevy house had been Fords. Obviously these are avid Chevy fans. Nice variety.

Our fences and gates are boring compared to TX!

i am married to the king of all things chevy, the bowtie is king to him. he would love that gate, and we don't own a dealership, but if we did it would have a bowtie on it. all the gates are great.

I thought you were going to say of the five cars parked in the driveway, only one was a Chevy - 2 Fords, a Toyota, a Dodge and the Chevy up on blocks.

Great eye! I'm wondering how long it takes you to upload multiple pictures to your post. Yesterday when I tried to do more than one picture it was taking way too long. Is this normal? Have a great weekend.

These are great, Theresa! I don't know which I like the most. The Chevy one I like the least...I do know that. Not anything against the make...just don't like it.

is Friday's Fences a new meme or something? I like it. I imagine Texas is a great place to find great fences - you guys like to do things big and fancy there, and your photos demonstrate that! my fave is the third one - the circle with the Texas star, it's beautiful. all are fine though. happy weekend Theresa.

Sharon said...

Cool gates!!!

Andrew said...

These are wonderful to see Theresa..
It's great to see what you see... blogging at it's best xx

I'm certainly getting a fence education from this meme. Your Texas fences are things of beauty and utility. My favorite of this collection is the first "State of Texas"--such a pleasing background. Are you a Chevy fan as well? Noticed your promo. :-)

I'm just glad the cars in the last driveway weren't Toyota:@)

Fences and signs, beautiful in their own way, these are superb.

Cat said...

As a Texas girl myself, I love all the creativity found in the gates and fences surrounding property. People will pretty much use anything! One of my favorite fences is the coyote fence made out of vertical cedar posts. I want one real bad...

I do love your gates (and fences)....and today, I wish I had stopped to photograph one of the pretty laser cut gates along my drive! It's just an "iffy" place on a canyon road. ;-)

What great gates and so creative! Here people do signs with the names of their farms and I enjoy seeing all the different names.

although i do see farms in our area with these large welcoming gates like this, they still seem to say "texas" to me. (maybe because of the show dallas.)

Great post. I love gates, too. I usually see the most interesting property entrances when we're traveling down the highway at 70 mph and I can't get a good shot! So I really enjoyed these. :)
