Fun friends indeed.Your killdeer look a little like our Plovers - I wonder, do they swoop and have poisonous talons? This is my first view of a 'real life' Roadrunner btw, thanks for that gift.Happy weekend.Waving from across the seas.
A roadrunner!! I've never seen one before...seriously! Except for that annoying one on TV on Sundays as a kid but I don't think he counts does he? I didn't think so. : )
what lovely birds indeed!happy weekend!
As you know, I'm a vehicular birder..loved this post :DI'm on the list of "never saw a real roadrunner", too!
Udane były Twoje "łowy samochodowe".Ptaki złapałeś i śliczne zdjęcia im zrobiłeś. PS. Koty z mojego postu, to koty bezdomne. Ludzie je dokarmiają, dlatego one tam są i rozmnażają się.Zagraża to coraz bardziej ptakom. Pozdrawiam
oh great photo shoot! Amazing birds. The road-runner is kinda funny; made me smile....
I have never seen a " road runner" in person . . . (at least not in the bird variety, plenty in the "road car" variety!)I am trying to think of a name for you . . . of courseTexWis would work but . . .BirderBird WomanPhoto Birdcome to mind . . . hmmm, how about giving you the BFF name (BIRD FRIEND FOREVER)smile

I'll bet that roadrunner is surveying for another internet provider. Nice shot of the hawk.
I've never seen a Roadrunner, except in cartoons. LOL! That is a wild looking critter.
Tex I was all about telling you how those killdear just put a smile on my face because I think killdear are just the funniest birds and then I scroll down and see your shots of the behind of that roadrunner and I am laugh crying so hard I can't see to type! That is one funny bird and I think it is sharing one of my bad hair days!
Oh this reminds me that I used to have a roadrunner here who would show up on my back deck and look in the window. I miss him. I haven't seen one in a long time. They are just such fun!
Great shots T. The Killdeer are fun to watch, the red-shouldered hawk is terrific and the roadrunner is my favorite. We don't see them around here.
Lovely birds!I love roadrunners. There are not a lot of people taking pictures of them. Thanks for sharing :)Greetings from SwitzerlandYvonne and Raphael
You shoot some great photos! I enjoyed watching them. Great job:) Greetings..
Using your car as a blind! Great shots of the Kildeer and Hawk and I love the Roadrunner running from you!
You had a good day of birding! I love the Hawks. They are magnificent aren't they?xo Catherine
I think the roadrunner was saying adios!
How cool is that Roadrunner?? Did you race it?? ;-)
Neat to see the Roadrunner!
road runners are real??? I thought they were cartoon birds, one of my all time favorite cartoons from the past. he is a cute little guy. do you have a closeup of one from the past? i wanna see onethe hawk looks a mite perturbed in the first shot, either that or he was focused on game on the ground. great automotive shoot out.
Aww...a roadrunner. Hello...goodbye...and off he goes. Thank you for the smile.
This was so fun. I really love seeing the killdeer in so much detail. They are such a fun little bird.I never saw a roadrunner while living there (or any place else) so that was a bonus. The hawk..amazing!
t.....you could do it anywhere!!i love the hawk....we have one whose been using our pool!!happy saturday!!
Wow a real life roadrunner..that is soooooo cool!!!!
Wow, a road runner never seen a picture of one before - do they really go meep meep? lol. I was looking for the acme truck. I used to love watching the road runner on telly.Your pictures are really good, the hawk is amazing!!!
Did you see Wile E. Coyote, the Coyote?
Great shots! Too bad you couldn't get a pic of a coyote to go with that roadrunnner....
Jeg kom lige forbi din blog.Hvor har du en smuk forside.Rigtig gode billeder.Tak for rundvisningen.
We have killdee in the fields here and of course our red shouldered hawk though I haven't seen him around lately. But no road runners.
I've never seen a killdeer, very sweet looking birds. As you know, we have roadrunners here too and they are so much fun to watch. We have red tailed hawks, don't think we have red shouldered ones. Your hawk photos are amazing. Great bird picture taking day. Thanks for sharing.
Great car shots! The first one of the road runner is great. Nature is beautiful from all sides.
A fine series….and from the car no less. Excellent work from a limited place to shoot. Well done!
I'm with everyone else~ my first time actually "seeing" a roadrunner! How funny! "beep beep"Awesome hawk and killdeer pics.
Love all the markings on these birds. My nickname was Birdy or Birdlegs when I was little....I'm passing it on to you, T!Meep.Meep.
Terrific!! I have always wonder why they call them killdeer. Do they actually kill deer? There may be no cooler bird (aside from the crow) than a roadrunner...meep, meep..
Those are just great! I would love to see a roadrunner in person! I've only seen the one with Bugs Bunny! Beep Beep! hahaha
Wow! Never seen a Roadrunner's rear end before. :P I guess I'll have to wait some before I see its front end.The Killdeer and Hawk images are quite nice! :)
I've never seen a killdeer so close, they have nice stripes. I think hawks are awesome and growing up with Looney Tunes, who doesn't love the roadrunner?
My daughter who is an avid (rabid) birder calls it "windshield ornithology". I am impressed with how close you were able to get to the killdeer. Being in a car usually gives birds and animals a sense of security. Once you open the door...whoosh, they're gone.
Dearest TexWisGirl,You shoot very well from the car! Great photos and the red shouldered hawk is awsome the way you captured him.Love to you,Mariette
We were sitting in our dining room having dinner when one of those roadrunners walked in front of the window and down beside my house. They look like some crazed maniac close up. Sasha my dog's favorite thing in the world is to chase Killdeers. I think they love to torture her on purpose. They yell louder when she comes outside and I swear they just laugh.
Marvellous captures! I have never seen a roadrunner before,'cept on the catoons. Gee, sure hope you were the passenger and not the driver ;)
Great captures again.Costas
Lucky you who get to see the beautiful hawk, great photos to.The first bird is so lovely with his big eyes and new to me. And the last roadrunner makes me curious, what is it...?
As a child, I used to love to try to find the killdeer nest in the gravel and rocks at the side of a country road. And I would LOVE to see a roadrunner some day! (I remember seeing my first armadillo while driving across Texas in the late 60's!)
T. nice birds! Beep Beep! Roadrunner! That's cool.I saw one once in Arizona. The Hawk is really nice!
Beautiful captures of beautiful birds as always! Love the hawk and the road runners always make me smile! Hope you have a great weekend, Theresa!Sylvia
Roadrunners crack me up
Did you know back in the days here in south Texas people ate roadrunners for medicine? John and I both had that experience. My Mama didn't know she was supposed to boil it so she fried it but it was still yuck. Maybe because my brother sat across the table from me and teased me.
Those are awesome shots from the car or not. I'd love to see a roadrunner what a great bird.
Wow wow wow, three well chosen birds. Superb.
Roadrunners always make me laugh! and want to say "beep-beep!"!Kay
Great shots, love the roadrunner.

Umm.....I too didn't know roadrunners were a real bird!! Very interesting--you're educational as well as entertaining!!
Very Nice! Would love to see a Roadrunner!!
Nice pictures, too bad you couldn't get a side view of the roadrunner. ;-)
Hi Texwisgirl, How wonderful that you have Roadrunners! Have a super good Sunday tomorrow!
Ok I just found out here that some birds have poisonous talons (WHAT?) I did not need to know this fact. Just kiddin I love the photo of the running road-runner I guess you always get their back end because why would they run toward you ? Funny ME... - KAT -
Roadrunners are such funny looking guys!
These are great! You must not have the traffic we have here. People get so ticked if you slow down in the least. They don't seem to realize or appreciate that there are birds to see, dang it!
killdeer are one of my favorite birds. I recall one year when I was gardening in a community plot. there was a nest not far from my garden. once the babies hatched, she was viciously protective. I think I ended up giving up on the garden that summer...happy weekend to you TWG.
Great pictures! The hawk turned out great! We get LOTS of roadrunners here, they like to sit on the front deck and hunt for lizards!
Great birds, I love the cute killdeer and the awesome hawk shots. But my favorite is the roadrunner. I have always wanted to see a roadrunner. Lucky you!
A nice series of birds to capture from the car. For the longest time I thought the Roadrunner was only a cartoon character!
I've never seen a road-runner before... how cool!Nice variety of birds!
My hubby has seen a Road Runner before and I have on cartoons. LOL! How cool to actually see a real one. Are those common there??
They're beautiful birds, I like looking at every angle of your photos.Have a nice weekend.
Such great pictures, Love the roadrunner picture, they always crack me up!
Nice collection. very clear pictures.
wow. around here, from a car, you could maybe find an ugly sparrow.although today, in a newly harvested cornfield, we saw three herons who obviously stopped by just for lunch....but the road was way too busy to even think about stopping and getting closer for a photo :(
I don't think I've ever seen a Killdeer or a Roadrunner before. Good shots from the car!
Hey,these are great. The Roadrunner is a neat bird to see,at least in a picture. I have never actually seen one up here. HA! HA!
What no coyote chasing the roadrunner?
Great drive-bys! (Your title sounds better than what I say 'drive-by shooting', which I do a ton of.) (I just wish my non-drivebys were as good as your vehicular shots.)
Oh wow!! I LOVE the roadrunner shots!
I find it hard shooting birds, they always fly away.
You've certainly captured some cool looking birds.. particularly Mr. Meep-meep!
Love the Roadrunner, though, all of those pictures are wonderful, so clear and full of detail. Especially since they were taken from a car.
Nice bird! sandie
I didn't think roadrunners were that little! I keep thinking they're ostrich sized??? Hey, blame that on wiley coyote.
Great drive-by shootings, T! I have tried my best to get good shots of the killdeer to no avail. They are so easily spooked! I once saw a Roadrunner while visiting our Austin friends, but again, out of focus shots. He was a fast booger and I was too slow. You did good!!
Great job on the Roadrunner-I have never been fast enough to get a pic. of one! My absolute favorite bird of all time is the Killdeer. Their babies look like cottonballs with legs...so cute!
Great pics! I love the hawk, he's much more colorful than mine!Every once in a while we see a roadrunner around here. But evn in the country I don't see them as often anymore. Same there?
Kudos for catching that roadrunner! I still haven't gotten one of ours!
Did you know that killdeer are also called plover? With that in mind I am sending you this scan I did of a newspaper article that I saved from years ago. I think you might enjoy it...I did.
awwww...man! I want to see a roadrunner! Cool, cool bird.
It's great way to photograph - i'll vouch for that!
I love the killdeer, they are so funny to watch. Great shots of the hawk; and I hope the road runner runs toward you next time so we can see it better. It looks awfully cute! I've never seen a real one.
It's amazing how useful a car can be as a blind! Birds often could car less about it's presence! And how cool to see a roadrunner running!
i used to see killdeer as a kid. not sure why they aren't around much anymore. sad. it was nice hearing their call...great shots of all!
Great shots of the hawk and road runner.
These are really good, T! I love the hawk shots! Birds of prey are my favorite!
