So Pretty... I really like Mockingbirds, we have alot here.
oh so THAT's a mocking-bird; remember a song years back about a mocking-bird; really sweet bird. Glad it managed to have a dip
Another beautiful capture at the bathtub.Costas
Jakie kochane zdjęcie. Uwielbiam patrzeć na ptaki. Pozdrawiam
What a pretty bird, but those things make me crazy at night!
This bird looks as if to say "some privacy if you please" LOL
I love the little Mockers. They are so fiesty with their skinny little legs and their strong voices!! Brave and crazy little creatures. Some of my favorites. blessings ~ Tanna
A dainty lady at her ablutions. Did she object to your intrusion into her bathroom?
Great shots of Mr. Mockingbird. I haven't seen any here for a while. About all we see now are sparrows, blue jays, chickadees, cardinals, doves, and woodpeckers. It takes one day for them to empty one large feeder and one small feeder. The suet lasts 2 days. Hungry little things.
I am sure all the birds in your part of Texas consider the RAR their own personal "oasis"
To my knowledge, I have never seen a Mockingbird. How beautiful! Nice series.
Of all the birds I see I thought I knew what a mocking bird looked like. Then realized I didn't. Thank you and it is such a "cute" bird.
Oh, I soooooo envious! I've put out some handmade bird baths, but they are either too deep or too sloping...sigh...I need to give in and BUY one! We have mockingbird families in our neighborhood and at least once a year I find a baby one in the front yard. They sure are fiesty! Now you've motivated me to go bird-bath shopping!!!
I love it, we've all gathered around our computer screens to watch 'your' bird take a bath. That reminds me - I have got to get busy and add some new water to mine. I love it when the birds hop in, splash most of the water out as they bathe and then (somehow) take a drink...
What a pretty bird! I like the sounds they make! :)
Thank goodness. He smells much better.
Isn't it a little cold for outdoor baths?
....your birds must love you. (I would forget to fill the birdbath)
I miss our little mocking-birds...they are our little alarm clocks in the spring/summer!
Beautiful pictures. What a pretty bird.
Love the soft gray tones, T. Very calming -- which is what I need today! :)
Such a sweet series!
Pretty bird and great shots! I love it!NIce day, kisses my dear.
Now that is one bathing beauty!
Certainly looks very wary.A lovely looking bird.
Could he possibly be saying, "Hey! How about a little privacy here!" ;)Beautiful images.
He is SO cute. Love his sweet look and gray coloring. Makes me think of the James Taylor/Carly Simon song. I'm singing it right now! Margie
I enjoy our Mockingbirds here. Loved all the wonderful pictures.Have a great day.Pam
I had a flock of robins around mine this morning.
I too like these mocking birds. We have a resident male who is a great protector of his territory. The spring antics are fun to watch as he tries to impress the girls.
HI Teresa...I love these guys..quite the characters in the neighborhood...drive some people nuts, but I love them...great shots !!
Our two bird baths are ice skating rinks each morning. No one has tried to do so yet. Mockingbirds are one that we have not had visit our backyard yet here in our new place. Just as well too. Sometimes they just don't ever give it a rest with all the singing!

These are so sweet. I like Mocking birds. We have a lot around here. They are some tough cookies. They really guard their young and run the hawks off.
He's enjoying his bath but I'm glad I don't have to drink my bath water!
I never see these guys up here ... but sure do enjoy them in your bath!

Ah- such delightful shots!
I have to tell you, I have not been able to get the vision of the cardinal taking a bath out of my head since I seen it here...and though these are just as good..and I love them...I don't think they will replace the cardinal spa day: http://run-a-roundranch.blogspot.com/2011/12/cardinal-spa-day.html
Looks like he's having a good time. I frequently see them fighting with red-tailed hawks
What a pretty boy! Love to listen to their songs.
Love the splashy water in that last shot. Beautiful shot
Aren't mockingbirds fun. I think of them as the comedians of the bird world. Great pics!
Awe what a sweet wee bird, looks like he enjoyed swimming around the bath.

T, wonderful shots! I've never seen a MB! I love watching the birds in the bath. Always so tentative before they take the plunge! We have a heater in our main birdbath and they still go in there even though it's cold out! Our other birdbath is frozen solid!
Lovely images of your Mockingbird a beautiful little bird to see.
Hi Texwisgirl, Nice series of pictures. I especially like that last shot showing the bird in full bath. That bird looked quite happy! Have a super day today!
We don't have mockingbirds but we do have their cousins, the catbird.
I'd wondered where our Mockingbirds had run off too--I'm glad they're having a good time at your place!!!PS: THANKS for your comments about your girls--It helps to know I'm not alone in my problem....
Beautiful close up photos! What a beautiful bird. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful birds and delightful captures! I love to watch them play/bathe in the bird baths!Sylvia
I need one of those heated bird baths or water dishes. It's been below freezing here for a few weeks now, so I can't put water out for the birds. That bird is really enjoying that water!
A great series, what a lovely bird. My bird bath is frozen at the moment so I guess birds are going bathless here for now.
Nice! it looks somewhat like our Whiskey Jack.
Great close ups!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Great photos of the mockingbird and so nice of it to show itself from all sides!
I love to watch our mockers take a bath- they really get into it and usually all the water is gone by the time they leave! :0)
Gorgeous images. A Mockingbird is a treat for me,as we a rely see them this far north.
Love this bird. We have one visit us every year and sing its' wonderful songs. They are really an interesting bird and their songs at night are really cool.
What a sweet face.
Awesome photos of the Mocker bathing!
I haven't seen any mockingbirds in ages - and hardly any birds are using our bird bath anymore. Sigh.
Wow !! Super photos of this bird !Mockingbird is rarely seen here in Canada.
I think that Mockingbirds are such beauties and they are also quite brave, standing their own against much larger raptors when they can~
Awwww, Just looking at him makes me feel cold. Taking a bath outdoors and all. Cute pictures! Those birds really have personality.
So very pretty! Such a cute series of bathing images. I would love to see such a sight at our bird baths.
There's something so sweet about watching birds bathe. Love how they ruffle up and take such delight in the splashing of the water. :)
I love seeing birds take their baths!
What a handsome dude!!!...:)JP
These are amazing! Wow!
Gee, a bird can't get any privacy!
Beauty! we, of course do not get mocking-birds :(
It's hard to relax with everyone watching! It sort of reminds me of the lack of privacy when the kids were underfoot. Excellent shoots!
I thought he was so pretty and after awhile - he lost his modesty! sandie
