Roadside herds

On an outing.  Driving along.  Taking photos.  Of cattle.  Would that make this a cattle drive?!  (ha ha...bad pun, I know...)

Gotta love Texas longhorns.

Oops!  A bit of bovine elimination going on, here.  But I liked the killdeer in the left corner of this shot.  Besides, everybody poops, right?

Okay, so how about a few buffalo roaming among them?
Okay!  Again with the elimination!

Thanks for blocking, buddy.

Those Texas longhorns are really cool! Love the buffalo too.

The puns? Yea, they put a smile on my face even this early in the morning!

Your post makes me want to sing ~ Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play!

Hilsen.

Your puns make me laugh!

Really enjoy seeing longhorns again and it's a real bonus to see the buffalo.

Not politically correct but those brindle longhorns would make some lovely chaps!

Love the pun - sort of like someone yesterday who went to Friday Fences and did a fence post. Noticed the kildeer right away, so sharp and clear.

your pictures make me miss our time in Colorado,Nebraska and South Dakota...buffalo are one of my favorite beasts, they are so amazing!
Thanks for the memories :)

Giving you the Hook 'em Horns hand signal! Our cows aren't quite as impressive! :)

Deb said...

I love to go on "cattle drives". It's a good excuse to get out of the city. We actually have serveral fields around our neighborhood that still have cows in them but it's not the same as driving out of the city limits to see them. I love the longhorns too.

LOL! Yes, because it was the Killdeer that made the photo! haha!

I don't think that first longhorn much appreciated his photo being taken. :-) Love the 'bison', too! Those are something you see on a farm every day.

Oh, I was laughing so hard about the Killdeer, I forgot about your 'cattle drive' comment...LOL

Hi TexWisGirl, Longhorn Cattle are very nice and the cows are good mothers. The bulls are, well, bullish. I have a good friend who once was a breeder of Long Horn Cattle. I like the shots of the Bison, too. Have a wonderful Saturday today! I do like your puns.

Rohrerbot said...

Yes! You have buffalo mixed in with the bunch? How fun:) I would love to see those guys driving around. And I'm waiting and waiting and waiting:) Hope you have a great Saturday. Chris

Those longhorns are so Texas to me! The buffalo seem more like they belong up here eating prairie grass--LOL! But since you have the killdeer down there, too, I'll just figure they migrated. ;)

Susan said...

Those longhorns are awesome! Are some of those buffalo? They look like it.

We love the long horns (even though we're Sooners fans in my house).

Martha Z said...

Yes, bad pun. I bet those cattle are glad that the grass is finally growing. Now we have a lack of rain and our local ranchers are having trouble. A little rain a week or so ago has started the grass growing again but we need more to keep it.

Gillian Olson said...

Love the cattle drive theme! Those longhorns are something, don't get to see them here.

A lot of people think cows are kind of vapid. Having been around them a lot as a kid. I always thought they had a lot of personality.
