Just because I feel bad about these zoomed in and cropped shots, I'm going to repeat some old photos of a closer encounter from a few years ago, taken through the sliding glass doors as he peered in from the deck.

Great captures. The one opportunity I had I got the bush in front of it in focus, very neat bird.
Oh goodness, he is an adorable one! You got some great shots of him!
Awe, isn't he/she such a pleasure. I love it.
so this really is ... 'a road-runner'?! I didn't even know there was a bird for real with that name. He's so darn cute! I suspect they might be kind of mischievious.
That is awesome! He/she is so cute!!
I've never seen one in person because we don't have them around here, so I have to enjoy them through pictures...
*meepmeep* :)
I always thought they were much bigger. Great shots!
Great shots!
He/she's so cute.
what a joy for you to be so close to such a creature...envious
Bardzo ciekawski ten ptak, wszędzie zagląda :-). Pozdrawiam.*** This bird is very curious, looks everywhere :-). Yours.
The Roadrunner such a special bird , nice photos both at distance and close-ups !
My inspiration!
He looks very excited to have his photo taken. Great shots!
How cool! I've never seen a road runner before (other than the cartoon of course, lol!). Are they really fast?
Love how he/she is casually walking down the road on their way to..somewhere! I have never saw one upclose, great shots.
It really exists then,I thought it was a made up cartoon character!!
Good photos!!
I've never seen one stand still long enough to pose for a photo!
Haha! He's cute! He doesn't look like the one off Bugs Bunny though. ;)
xo Catherine
Meep meep. I'll be saying that all day!
I just love to see roadrunners!! Not as common here as further west, so I get even more excited to see them. Thank you for sharing these. blessings ~ Tanna
That is a pretty bird !
Wow-once again you amaze me!! I never knew these were for real!! Love the poses she/he struck! Do you have every bird there is down your way! Love the green grass you Photoshopped in!! haha-really though glad you finally have moisture to get that greenery!! have a great day Theresa!

meepmeep!!
Love the close up through the door! He's cute!
What a funny looking bird... lol. Love him looking in the window... I owned a Plymouth Roadrunner in 1972, it was a 1969 with a 383, four on the floor and a 3/4 racing cam... it was a hot ride!
i have never seen a real live roadrunner, and glad you showed the up close shots. he is so cute. i love the meep meep from the show... next can we see wiley coyote?
What a neat bird! I always thought they were bigger too!
I'm loving that little road runner. My cousin ~ when he was living yet in California .. had one that came every day to his deck for a hand out of raw hamburger.
I haven't seen a road runner in ages! They are so fun to watch!
Good looking bird. Nice to see he has some space to practice in!
I've never seen one, but maybe it's because they move so fast! You have captured one (or two) and now I am satisfied that they do indeed exist. :-)
It's a fascinating bird!
Cute little bird- you got a great shot of him on your porch!
Interesting! Thanks for sharing, since we obviously don't have these in Virginia!
I don't think I've ever seen one of these birds in person. If I have, it was just a fleeting glimpse. Thanks for sharing this one through photos. Maybe someday...
Oh, I really really really want to see one of these!!!
How awesome to get those photos! I saw a roadrunner once . . . I think . . .
Oh he's wonderful. No coyotes lurking?
such a neat bird! thanks for sharing !
He is soooo cute, I've only seen one on your blog.
I have never seen a road runner before - how cool is that. On cartoons I always feel a little mad at him and feel sorry for the coyote! Just a little. lol
sandie
So cute! I did not realize how small they were.
What a great looking bird!
Great shots Theresa.
love these.. and where is that wiley coyote when ya need him..hehehehhe
Funny looking birds aren't they? We have those little buggers too. Great pics!!!!!
Aww, I love roadrunners! We used to have them running around our neighborhood when we lived in New Mexico.
He is too dang cute Tex! I want one on the Tiny Ten!!
I used to love seeing those when I visited TX!
Just read your Horns/Hammocks post.... wow what a day!! Glad you were there to come to his rescue!
That paisano is on a mission!
They have so much character!
I love these guys and rarely see them here. I had one a few years ago that would come up on the deck and peek in the glass. It was such fun.
I always wondered about this bird.....wonderful pictures!
Cool---very unique lookin' boid.
A very interesting character!
Now he's a cutie pie...So glad you gave us the up close version because you can really see the details....I have never seen one before....
What a cutie! ;-)
Dearest Theresa,
Loved also those 'literally' Road runner shots!
Love,
Mariette
I love roadrunners!
haha! Cool shots on the deck! I've only seen them a couple of times, but they're speedy little suckers.
What a lovely one.......very nice pictures Theresa..... good work again.
greetings, Joop
These guys are real characters which leaves no wonder they were chosen to be Wiley's nemesis.
I love road runners! I had to come see your posting after reading Chilling With Jill's posting! Great shots!
I have never seen a roadrunner! Lucky you to get photos.
I do so fondly remember Loony Tunes.
So, he just dropped by for a beer?
Thanks to those comics I was also under the impression that they were a lot bigger! Love all those pics and the birds put a smile on my face.
They must be tons of fun as they appear to have personalities all their own. :)
He's so cute! Did you invite him in?
Don't you just love the Roadrunners. We have quite a few here. The males are funny when they get to showing off for the girls LOL
Oh, I love the roadrunners! And your captures are terrific! Hope you have a great day!
Sylvia
He's great!! Now where's Charlie Coyote? Boom & gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
What a great catch.. My Mom used to have a one legged roadrunner that would visit every morning.. I can't remember what she fed it. But for over a year it was there every morning..
Hugs, Linda
Great pictures !!!...xxx...
Great photo's, Theresa. I'd never seen a road runner. :)
Up and down the road. Always makes me wonder where they are going and what are they going to do when they get there. Turn around and come back I suspect.
I NEED one of those! Does it come with its own coyote?
Vilken rolig liten rackare!/brita
Well done!!!
Regards,
Hey! No way....for some reason, (because I'm mostly ignorant:)I only thought Road Runners to live around this area. Those shots made me smile. Nice! Love these birds....they make me laugh, but they are also quick to nab any food:) Fun!
These are so fabulous! You are the first and only person that I've seen with pics of a real Roadrunner! Love it!
Very nice images! I want a good shot of one of those Roadrunners so badly. I was not into photography when I lived in New Mexico, and we sure don't have any out here in Florida.
After watching the cartoon for years it's nice to be reminded that they really are real. :)
Love that last closeup!
What an absolute cutie!
I like that you resurrected the close-ups!
They are adorable, quirky birds!
None around here. Thanks for sharing them!
Cheers from Cottage Country!
Hahaha...I've been "meep meeping" since I saw the first picture:D
T, great captures! They definitely are an unusual bird! I managed to see one on a trip to Arizona a few years back! Made my day!
Well I've heard the name of course but never seen the real thing, a delightful and quite odd looking bird... but don't tell it I said odd ;-)
How cool! I don't think I've ever seen a real picture even.
interesting pictures...
Super species. One I never got to see on our trip to Texas in 2003.
We have road runners up here too and I love watching them. I don't think its possible to get an up close and personal shot unless you are stalking through a window.
Your photography is exquisite!!!
And I'm super impressed that you were able to capture that bird so beautifully through your sliding glass doors. I can hardly see out mine...with all the small handprints smeared all over it!
You've got the roadrunners, we have the coyotes...which I can't get close enough to get pics of!
Funny little creature! I don't think I have seen one up close like that!
They sometimes jump up on the front porch here searching for lizards, I'm hoping I'll be able to get a "close-up" picture this summer. I love your shots through the slider!! :)
OMG! I've never seen one before! Very cool! So where's Wile E.?
That looks like a youngster. Very cute and quite bold :)
Don't let it distract you, or you'd do a face plant over a cliff!
Never have seen a real live roadrunner. Thanks for the pics. By the way, I removed word verification. I'm just curious, why don't you like it? Do you get a lot of spam as a result?
Hi TexWisGirl, I sure do miss these fantastic birds. I used to see them all the time when I lived in Texas many years back. I have occasionally seen the Road Runners in Southern California out in the desert areas. Have a wonderful day!
I love roadrunners! We have them here in Arizona too. You should consider doing a drawing of one.
Beep! beep!.. wonderful to see and I have just given myself a pat on the back because as I saw your thumbnail on Springmans blog I said Roadrunner.
So your cropped images were good enough for me...
I love the images of the one that visited your decking.. it's now my second fave bird on the R*A*RRR your little painted buntings are still miles ahead of the rest..
The last picture cracked me up! I just love roadrunners. We had a family in our woods, we could hear the mom calling her babies, but never saw the babies. Must be good at camouflaging!
MeepMeep... Great shots T.
Wow - I love the close ups of the birdie...cool eyes.
Great shots! Have a lovely day!
Big hugs
Eva
Awesome! How funny he was to come peeking into the house like that.
Before we got a Border Collie to guard our house we had a roadrunner that would visit inside the fenced yard. It is really amazing when you realize how big these birds really are!
This is what i missed...:))))
He's a cute little road-runner! You captured his personality perfectly.
you've got a peeping tom! he is so cute...i remember the first time i saw a road runner and was very disappointed that he didn't look anything like the cartoon character!
You stole my line you varmint! Where's Wylie Coyote?? Margie
Amazed at the many, many birds you see . . . certainly a treat to see the road runner!
Wow such an amazing bird! Great shots!
Guess ole Wile E. Coyote was no where in site!
This is one bird I long to photograph. They are so interesting and colorful. We used to see one on our property 30 years ago but alas, it disappeared a few years after we moved to the property. There are still a few in the area but nowhere near as many as there used to be. I have to search them out to see them from afar now.
I love your photos, especially the close-ups from your porch! I will get to Arizona to bird sometime in the near future where I expect to get some shots of these unique birds.
Cool! I've never seen one up close and personal:@)
Great shots, Theresa! I would love to add this bird to my lifer list. Maybe someday. The closeups from the deck are awesome.
Cool pictures - he has got kind of a cute face don't you think?
Love the mowhawk! He was brave enough to come onto the deck? Cool!
Marvelous captures!
Never tire of seeing these comical Paisanos!
That's cool having one come up to your door!
Wow what a great capture....n he came to you!
wow that is a cool bird
love it
-KAT-
lol Cute little guy!
OMG! That is so cool! I loved that one came up on your porch!! They are oddly pretty. :)
What an interesting guy. I have never seen one like him before. I think he is actually pretty cute. Thanks for your continued support. Thank heavens my computer is up and breathing again. genie
Now that's a cool bird to find! Especially so close to your home.
Meep, meep?? LOL If I ever come to Texas and see a roadrunner I will squeal with delight. Thanks for the pics :-)
Those are really great shots of the Roadrunner! I'm so glad Wile E. Coyote never caught him! :-)
What a cool bird! Wish we had those here.
The only bad shot is the one you don't take just like the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. I've never seen a roadrunner before and now I have. Meep meep!
He wants in.
Awesome looking bird
I haven't seen a road runner since I was a kid...cool...
Oh, I would love to see one of these...off to look them up at all about birds now! Want to listen to their sound....
A roadrunner on your deck??? That is SO cool!
...why do I have the sudden urge to watch cartoons?
That is TOOOOO Cool! Love these. He seemed pretty interested in what was going on through those doors!
They hard to catch in a photo! They skitter around so quickly! They are pretty darn cute also... Nice photos.
Love their fine "rudder". :-) And as to preferences, couldn't choose a fav whether closeup or in natural setting. Beautiful markings.
Sorry I've been a stranger lately. Hoping life will get back to normal soon. Thanks for visiting even though I'm not returning the favor.
He is one interesting looking fellow. Do they really run quickly?
Very cute! Not a bird I've seen, so fun to see it in your photos.
I think I'd keep a very close look out for falling anvils and fake cliff faces if I was watching one of these!
At one time we had an Acme cheese grater at home - and I thought the company was fake!
Cheers - Stewart M
Cool shots. I've only seen a Roadrunner one time and it was running fast so no photos.
Oh my, he is/she is soooooo cool! I have only seen them a couple of times and from a great distance. I think these along with Pheasants are 2 that I really, really want another chance to view one day~
Wow, just amazing!
Greetings
Angela
My Dear, your first two pictures are "contextual" and beautifully descriptive of the world at large.
As for that last one, scary, I now know how desperate a snake must feel backed into a corner by the lethal stare of a roadrunner!
check him out! how handsome! heheheee
great shots, T!
awe, the last photo is superb!
this one made me smile.
he's simply adorable!
Great shots! I can never get that close to one.
Superb bird and I love that last photo. Meep - meep!
I enjoyed all the shots ... cropped zoomed in whatever :D)
What a cute little fella.
Just loving your roadrunner pictures! How neat he was peering in the window at you! Love the "cropped" shots, too, though. They show him "running the roads!" :-)
so that's what they look like
What wonderful shots of the Roadrunner. I had never seen one till now (except the cartoon character).
Such interesting birds aren't they? Can't decide if it is cute or not. Look at all the spring that has sprung!
How cool is that. He sure did get close to the window. If the door had been open, maybe he would have come in for a visit.
Love the Road Runner.
He's a cool little dude...that looks like he'll peck you to death. My gawd, he has a sharp lookin' beak
