They're baAAck!!!

The Black-Bellied Whistling Ducks have returned to Run*A*Round!  Due to our very mild (non-existent) winter, they are two months earlier than normal!
I am thrilled to see them!
After all,
who can resist their bright coral bills,
 and long pink legs,
 beautiful grays and browns,
and, oh yeah, that FACE!!
And let's not forget, they love to roost in trees,
and sometimes stand like little, alert armies.

I love these ducks!  And you might just be seeing a lot of them around this blog, again!  I am happy!

Oh, my heart jumped when I saw the first picture of them all in a row. They are cute, cute, cute. I never see our ducks in a tree so that is such a funny sight to me. Have you had this many at once before? You really got some good shots of them. So, I am sure you have said this before, do they whistle? I'm guessing yes? Could you please send me one. (And how is this for a crazy idea...I want a white duck at our pond and I am contemplating how to do that.) As I type I hear them outside my window "laughing."

They are delightful and the final photo with them "at attention" which shows the gorgeous color in their feathers is beautiful. Such a spectrum of browns, charcoal-greys and with sunlight glisten is perfect. Do show us more . . . what a treat.

Even the big white Peking ducks who would get in the garden, eat the cherry tomatoes, then with a bib coated with tomatoe residue, take a bath in the kiddie pool. These were ducks from the nursery and nothing but laughs and fun.

Cheers,
