It's good he (or she) is cleaning out the bottom, it saves you some work :-) I wish I could bend like that!

It's amazing to watch them eat upside down. It's hard to do - don't ask me how I know. ;)

They were made to invade and they do it so well....
They can be so aggravating but they are cute.....

She is going to get those sunflowers seeds no matter what! Fun snaps Tex! I will take a Fox Squirrel over a gray squirrel any old day :)

DJan said...

I also heard the song in my head as I looked at the pictures of that determined squirrel. Now, could you turn off the song, please? :-)

Sallie (FullTime-Life) said...

Oh yeah, nothing is impossible for these crafty creatures. When we used to feed birds at our Oregon house, Bill called them rats with tails, but these kind of rodents I always enjoyed watching in our back yard -- he did too really!)

Sharon said...

LOL! It's adorable, I do love your squirrel's antics!

Good Morning BTW!

Mary Howell Cromer said...

Such fun to watch! I gifted my 88 year old father-in-law with a large bird feeder going on 2 years ago, and I also placed a nice Squirrel baffle on it. He has been enjoying the birds all of this time and then a couple of months ago, 2 squirrels figured out how to get to the seed and Dad is amazed;)))

Karen said...

That's a lot of work for a few seeds!

Jan n Jer said...

The mis-adventrues of the tree rat! So cute to watch!

So funny! Cute action you caught. At least I'm not the only one with annoying squirrel feeder problems.

I wish I could run around and clamber about like that. I don't know what I'd do with such skills, but it'd be nice to have.

They always make me smile/laugh! I do miss seeing them as often as I did where I lived before. Such fun shots for the day!

That's one determined squirrel! Looks like he has velcro on his belly. Think it's funny that he was so intent on getting his prize he just ignored the camera.

I do enjoy their antics. One of mine refuses to give up trying to reach the feeders. You can just see his little brain working as he climbs as far out on the branches and considers jumping to the feeder placed away from the tree.

If only I was half as flexible as this critter. LOL He is a determined fella.

The cupboard is bare, and I wonder why! Voracious little acrobat. I love it that you seem to embrace their antics instead of taking a .22 after them. Guess you got the dogs for that, though!

Marie said...

So funny! I love it! They are such acrobats and clowns! I miss them sometimes.

edenhills said...

I think mine is actually hanging in a location where the squirrels can't get to it. I'm going to have to figure out a different place/way to hang it.

Linda said...

There's not much cuter than a squirrel trying to find a way to eat from a bird feeder. I think you should name this one "Paydirt." It somehow fits him.

holdingmoments said...

Such agile little pests lol

Rita said...

I just love squirrels! They are so clever and smart...not to mention cute as a bug's ear. ;)

It's such a sweet creature:)

wayside wanderer said...

His fur looks so soft, but dang, it looks like someone got all the seeds before he could. =)

Rohrerbot said...

Yes!! That music would definitely work for this situation:)

Andrew said...

Wonderful.. we have a popular film in the UK showing the same with Mission Impossibles tune playing over it.

Daffycat said...

And we all know why the bird feeder is empty, don't we?

Cute? True. Monster? Yes. You forgot to add greedy! LOL

Susan said...

Clever little fellow!

These furry little critters could probably hang from their tails like monkeys. Especially when they want your bird seed. Great shots.

Hi TexWisGirl, That is a real rascal! Have a super day tomorrow!

Evelyn S. said...

My husband cut a plastic flower pot to make a "hat" for the top of my feeder, hoping the shape and slickness would deter the squirrels. It seems to work generally, but I did see a squirrel on it one day. Right now, the finches and grosbeaks swarm both feeders at least half of the day.

Betsy from Tennessee said...

I keep meaning to tell you that I love your new header. That picture of you is awesome. You have the prettiest smile of anyone I know!!!!!

Squirrels are amazing creatures --even if they drive me crazy.
Hugs,
Betsy

Mariette said...

Dearest Theresa,

Oh, those devils all graduated from university it seems as they outsmart us all! It is hilarious watching their circus from behind the window at times. Pieter once hung a bird feeder from a rope between two trees. The jumped down from the overhanging branches and sweeping with feeder and all till they could climb back on to snack!
Also a feeder on a post got smeared by Crisco. That squirrel did slide down in such way that we almost did wet our pants for laughter. BUT the neighbor's dock did lick the Crisco all off and thus no luck for blocking the squirrels.

Love to you,

Mariette
