yes, we are covered with them here right now as well...
Best harbinger of death, ever!
Dearest Theresa,What a great photo! You caught them...Love to you,Mariette
Bela foto, Parabéns....http://campechefatosefotos.blogspot.com.br/
Love the crows (ravens) they are the such smart birds (like parrots)... this is a great shot, being all black they are difficult to get a really good shot of, but you did! There is a Professor at the University of Washington who has made the study of crows his life work, John Marzluff. If you google his name you can read about his work...
Only you can make a crow beautiful :)
They are sleak & shiny for sure! Noisy too! I've had several coming by for a visit lately but haven't had a chance to photograph any of them.
Aren't they gorgeous?...
While I don't like the sound crows make, they really are birds that look like they are ready to go to a formal party don't they? ;)xo Catherine
Never More! oops wrong bird? great shot, i can see his beady little eyes and all his feathers. it is hard to take a photo of black and this one is great.
Great closeup. I kinda like them. My spouse not so much. All that cawing outside our bedroom window at 5 a.m.
Haha Slick is a good name. Love the seed in his mouth.
Yep! Gosh, you're good girl.
Did you know they live for as long as 40 years? No wonder they are so smart; they are around for awhile, picking up the tricks of the bird trade. :-)
he's rock n' roll!beautiful shot
The crows don't come around my house very often, my problem is the Brown-headed Cowbirds. Perfect name "Slick", I like that! :)
I'm seeing a few here -- but they never get close enough for me to snap a photo. Great captures. :)
They are slick - sly, quick. We usually have quite a few about now, but not hearing them.
Got to just love those Crows, for they could entertain me all day long, if I was willing to sit that long;) Great image showing their beauty Theresa~
Great shot! They are such an intelligent bird.
Great shot...they are so scary looking to me! Demonic!!!
I don't think I ever realized how shinny they are....Thanks for the photograph....
I see that Old Slick found himself a piece of corn. He knows where all the easy pickings are located!
Not sneaky enough for you though : )
Very sleek and shiny. Pretty picture.
Wow! They are glossy!
They seem to slimmer than ours. Beautiful birds!
I love crows! We have a bunch hear and they chase away the chicken hawks and sneak in the goat pen and finish up any left over feed!
I posted some eagles for you....and my mr. moose was standing at the front door last week but no one let him in for coffee....
They are smart and sleek. I love them and I love this photo!
Look at that eye! You've really captured a lot of detail here. I love the crows, but they don't come too close. I've been watching gangs of crows mobbing the hawks every day.
Sleek, slick and STUNNING!
If I could draw and paint, which I can't, I would ask permission to draw this picture. It is wonderful. I love how you caught the shimmer on the wings and how they look against the green of the grass. I really do love this photo, it is really, really, good. I love crows.
Very nice up close and personal capture. We have them all over our neighborhoods here. Yesterday I saw one fighting for a morsel on the street with a black bird. The black bird won :)
We have a LOT Of those around here recently. Matter of fact, I opened the garage door this morning to a couple of brows cawing at me for startling them. Well excusssssse me!
Hi TexWisGirl, You have some fabulous pictures here of the Crows. I have a hard time getting details to show due to the all black coloring these fun, smart, and yes, sneaky big beauties have! Have a fine day today!
Great shots!I wish you a happy WBW evening!
I love crows. We have a family of them around here and they love my peanuts. Nice photos. √Since I was hacked I had to give up my old user name and the blogs that went with it. So this is the new birds blog and I hope you can come visit. Birds Birds Birds and Birds
:-) Great shot!
Pretty sleek with down on the grass sneeky photo of your crows. What beauties. They are most observant of who is around from my experiences. Unless you bait them by hand which would not surprise me with all your critter experiences.Wonderful photograph…
Good job on this photo. It is quite difficult to capture the detail in their feathers. The all black shiny surface causes fits with camera exposure meters. Well done smarty pants.
are you waxing your crows down there in Texas ?-KAT-
Crows have a bad reputation, but I think they are a handsome bird...and your gorgeous shot proves it!
Hehehe... and everywhere! In winter I can always count on seeing crows even if I see no other birds. :))
Yep, lookin' good, Slick!!
A more intelligent bird you'll never find. I love them. They know me well enough to skedaddle as soon as they see my camera. Love this pic!
Great photo, T!
GREAT picture! I can never seem to get close enough to get a really good shot, they see the camera and fly away.
Exactly-slick! It's hard not to like crows even with their bad manners. And I would just kill-not literally--for hair that slick, shiny and black. Like say, 30 years ago. :-)
Sooo beautiful, both picture and the crow!!
Smart and slick they are. We don't have them here, only ravens abound.
That's a fine murder of crows!Add noisy to the lot as well.A great up close shot!
Slick and smart. Great shot, I always thought the reflectiveness of their feathers was really cool and you captured it really well.
I love them. I know a lot of people don't but I do. And their big cousin the raven
T, great shot! Love the sheen on the feathers!
Wowwwwwww so beautiful !!!...love Ria...xxx...
Just love crows as you know!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
I think "cheeky" would be another appropriate adjective! ;-)
I love their super, shiny black but I don't love them swooping down toward Snickers when she is outdoors. . . . she must look like a small squirrel or . . .?
Gorgeous photo! Yes, they look so beautifully sleek! I had one attack a baby rabbit in my yard once, and it's hard to set that aside. :-) But it's one of God's creatures and we have to appreciate the intricacies of the way nature works in such perfect harmony. They are pretty if you take the time to really LOOK!
Superb shot Theresa.
Nice shiny black crows. Only humans can be more cunning than crows
You know, they were watching you watching them. Crows always have a sentinel on duty, and it's apparent you are trusted in their environment, as very few are allowed to make that close-up shot.
Those Crows are so pretty... We have lots of them around here--and they are NOISY... Love 'em!!!Hugs,Betsy
Podstępny jest, ale to jego sposób na życie. Ślicznie na zdjęciu wyglądają. Pozdrawiam.*** Is insidious, but it was his way of life. They look cute in the picture. Yours.
Great picture- they are sleek!
A lovely image.. they are beautiful birds to see up close.
Those crows appear to be carved out of ebony!
Lovely! What a great capture.Blogger seems to be crazy, it's one of those 'Service Unavailable' days... Sorry if this comment is a repetition.
Lovely picture of those crows! And yes, they are very sneaky [they look it too]Have a great day!Eva
Great shot! They are amazing birds, aren't they? They are usually much too wary for me to get a decent picture.
Great photo showing their beautiful glossy feathers.
Great shoot of the crow! I saw one sitting on a fence while our walk after skiing. I said to my man stop!! He walkes along and didn´t listen....of course the crow flew away...what!! did he say.....very very to late....
I really do like Crows. Great photo.
I've been seeing some of those big birds in our yard lately too but not in a group like that. They are scattered here. It is currently 102 degrees on my front porch in West Virginia right now! lol I HAD to turn on the ac!
They are sneaky but their feathers are so shiny and pretty. Great shots!
Very sneaky but beautiful all the same.. especially when sunlight glistens on their feathers.Nice shot T.Cheers :)
I love my crows as well ... beautiful and smart. My little group help keep things in balance ... we have three different kinds of hawks that hunt my feeders. They are successful on occassion, but the crows keep them at bay most of the time.I feed them suet pellets for their efforts and they are always waiting for me to put them out in the morning. Your pictures are especially good. Thank you ...Andrea @ From The Sol
We have a lot of crows here. They are not the prettiest of birds though.
Oh, I love crows!! They are so smart!Great shot. :)
The Bad Birds of the yard???:@)
I like the title. I suddenly saw them that way - chic! Haha. Black on green are nice color combo too. :)
That is one great shot of this crow. They looked like black bird around here!
WoW....that's a great shot!! one was all you needed!!
I love crows...why is that?! I even left some fake ones in my house after Halloween.
LOL. Crows are my totem animal.
My boss always told about a boy he grew up with that had a pet crow...the boy would be riding on his bicycle and the crow would come flying over his shoulder and land on the handlebars and ride...
this is a great pic! they are so shiny! I just saw a crow yesterday in a parking chasing a dove. It was quite strange!
Great shot they're so alert it's hard to capture them.
Great capture, very smart birds too.
I know they have a bad reputation and not everyBODY likes them but they are beautiful birds.
Outstanding photo Tex! Very well done! I am particularly fond of crows; they are so smart!
I love these birds...great photo!!Hugs,Chris :o)
Fantastic shots! All black birds are very difficult to photograph and get any definition, and you managed it wonderfully.
Holy Cow, woman...over a hundred comments...AMAZING.This is, indeed, a beautiful photo.
Even the crows on your ranch are sleek and happy! (And why not?)
Isn't it amazing how every once in a while these hopelessly black birds let themselves be photographed and show their feather detail. Perfect!
Only get a few crows now and then. Noisy guys!
What a determined look he has. Great shot, T!
Great close up.
I love crows. Great photo. :)
Those slick birds can stay down with you and not bother me on the prairie. :)
Plumage very shiny! Excellent bird!Your photo is beautiful!Best regards
Lovely, glossy plumage. Crows are such intelligent creatures, you can see it in their faces!
Whoops! I forgot to say there was another beautiful, black and glossy creature on Sunday's post...absolutely gorgeous :-)
You described them perfectly. Great shot!
Always love the jet black and heavy bill of these birds.
Good Morning Theresa...here I am...Amazing photo...they are all together and so dark and shiny...Marvelous.Hugs..BS
Hi there - great capture. Shows what a lie it is to say these birds are just black.Cheers - SM
And brash & bossy. Beautiful birds!
Fabulous shot! They are such smart birds...we recently visited a Wildlife Rehab Center where we were told that they are so smart they have been known to drop nuts on the road for cars to run over and crack for them! You have a beautiful photo here!
Your photo shows them in a true light beautiful.peter
Similar to our Aussie crow but without the blue eyes!!
Great title for this photo! Slick, indeed. Nicely done.
they are pretty aren't they...loud and messy...but pretty....
ooow, he is sleek! fascinating to watch too. :o)
Awesome photo! I find crows so amazing. (I'm not even sure if my blog has word verification.) Thanks for visiting and your comments, they are always appreciated.
Very good photo.Regards and best wishes
Crows are great. They can count to 7 you know...or is it 8?
Nice lighting on those black birds. Difficult to get all the subtleties but you did it!
never heard those adjectives for crows...
Simply amazing!! Luscious colors!
Wonderful close up!
Funny those birds scare me.
Just wanted to let you know that I just found your blog and think it's outstanding! Not only is your blog outstanding, but so is your talent!
nice picture!!those crows are slick...and bossy!(i spotted a dead one...hanging in a tree in the side yard. like it just fell out of the sky and landed draped across a tree branch. pretty weird. hopefully not a bad omen. i took a picture of course!)
