Whistler wonders

Some days, these ducks just make me laugh...
Black-Bellied Whistling Ducks
 Sitting on the bird bath we use as a bowl feeder.



 Look away for a second to look at the rest of the flock...
 and another jumps onto the bath/feeder.

It really makes me wonder what's going on in their heads. Maybe they just wanted to escape the crowds?

amazing birds.. i like the first 2 best, the expression on the face of the one on the left in the first one is priceless and what i like about the second is the tops of the heads showing at bottom of photo. all of these made me smile.

They are definitely cute, and obviously looking for food in the food bowl. I like the ones that show the heads of the ones on the ground, with the adventurous ones above.

The one on the bowl, facing inward toward the bowl, appears to be balancing on its non-existent toes. Interesting what those webbed feet can do. Those are fascinating birds. They seem to be very social...hanging around together in large groups.

Wonderful to see them perch like that.. I once saw a mallard perched on a branch up a tree... it didn't look right and I have never seen one do it since..
