For Friday's Fences

A triple-decker Louise sandwiched between BB and Thelma. Note: This sandwich is served up stale - these photos are from January. :)
BB on squirrel stake-out.
My sweet little Louise.

A lady-like Thelma, also on squirrel stake-out.

Don't you just love how relaxed it looks when they cross their front paws. Such cutie pies.

I love their calm demeanor while on the lookout. Benny is all springs and bounces if he even thinks about squirrels.. which is often. Beautiful pooches, they are. :)

They are always so patient. They are so beautiful.

BB in the first picture reminds me of the RCA Victor dog.

So what I really need instead of a squirrel feeder is a few good dogs? Hmm..

Rita said...

Love seeing your beautiful dogs. Even if they do give the squirrels a run for their money. Dogs can't seem to help it. ;)

They are so darn cute! I love the photos of your dogs (friends). So calm and relaxed. Tiah would be all over the place.

If this was about fences, I think you know that your dogs were very distracting and fences were barely noticed.

A fine series with this excellent model posing just right so you could get some good fence shots. I especially like the stake-out shot! ;-)

Where would fences be without doggies? Not nearly as useful or interesting, that is for sure. Treats all around!

The first photo with the dog considering the fence is a winner in my books. Great for showing the fences with something else. It enhances both the fence and the dog.

If the squirrel is smart it will stay on the far side of the fence. I would guess that the fence would slow the dogs enough that the squirrel could get away.

Genie said...

Your babies love their squirrel watching. They are such beautiful dogs. Do they go through the fences or their walks or is their fencing wire in between the boards? I am mazed at all of your talent. Your painting are beautiful. My son is a wonderful artist as was his father. You can put a Monet in front of him and he will reproduce it unbelievably well. There is no effort to it...all of a sudden there it is. You all are both so talented. Hope all is well out west. Its chilly and raining here, but tomorrow is Friday...goodie, goodie. genie

Friday fences never looked so good!

Cheryl said...

Thelma looks so dainty and well-mannered. Are you sure she's actually on squirrel watch?

Daffycat said...

LOL great photos of the honor guard. My Sheba HATED squirrels. Border Collies tend to really FOCUS on things! When she was young you couldn't say words that sounded like "squirrel" such as "girl" or the fool dog would go ballistic. This got easier as she became hard of hearing!

Nice photos! The soft focus of the fence in the background in the Louise photos is wonderful! Makes for a great scene. Thelma is very lady-like! LOL!

SquirrelQueen said...

Oh so much patience. Do the squirrels sit in the trees and taunt them the way they do my cats?

Marie said...

Your dogs are so sweet! And I love the fence. A nice scene to sit on your porch (assuming your porch faces this direction) and just enjoy on a lovely day...the dogs peacefully waiting for the squirrels before they explode into action! :-)

I love watching a dog watching things. Thelma and Louise are just such good looking girls!

Linda said...

Love these. Thelma is a beauty. My collie, sweet thing that she was, wasn't too bright. She would tree a squirrel, then position herself under that tree, confident that her prey was securely trapped in the branches above her. Meanwhile, the squirrel would have jumped from tree to tree and been long gone.

Angela said...

They are always on guard duty! Love your pups!

Revrunner said...

Had a dog once who always saw fences as challenges and never to my knowledge ever shrunk from jumping them no matter the height. :-)
