One last blog bluebonnet blast for 2012

The barrage of bluebonnet blooms has subsided for the spring season - just traces of the former floral flush are found in the front field. (How'd you like that for a little alliteration?) I'm gonna make you sit through one final post of them. These were taken at their peak at the end of March on an overcast day. I think that made their blues even deeper hued.

Looking up the driveway towards the road - the fragrance was incredible!

Sick of seeing a sea of blue and green, yet? :) Just a few more with some of my buddies thrown in to break it up a bit.
Baron

BB

Baron and BB

Handsome Baron
Yes, there's a section of pasture up near the tree grove that is not covered in bluebonnets - just bright green grass.

BB

Heading back to the house - BB in the lead, then Louise, then Baron (Thelma was inside snoozing on the doggie couch)

The end of blog bluebonnet season...

Bet it was that fragrance which drew over your neighbor’s cattle. I cannot wait for Mr. Stevens’ farm’s poppy fields to start blooming. Your pictures make the viewer want to stop in for a visit. genie
