Reflections in the pond makes a nice background for the Whistler!

Love the color of that Whistler and the water too. Apparently those guys never come this far north!

Elizabeth Grimes said...

Well he just posed right for the camera, didn't he? :) What a ham.

I really dig the last photo. It is almost as if it wants to say, "AFLAC can kiss my tail feathers!" Stunning photographs once again.

Donna said...

LOL, that duck was giving you some good poses there!

Oh you are so lucky to look out and see these lovely birds everyday. Lucky lucky you. I love the variety you must never be bored. He is a cool one. B

So, did he fly up to that stump? Are these type of ducks better at that sort of thing than mallards? The mallards around here end up doing somersaults when they land and all sort of not very graceful craziness. I can't imagine them landing on a stump in the middle of the pond successfully.

Betty Manousos said...

i do love those birds! they are about the prettiest of birds they are.

He looks regal standing up there on his stump throne.

Tombstone Livestock said...

How much do you have to pay your bird "models" to pose for such great pictures?

Karen said...

I just love these ducks!! Have you ever drawn one?

Furry Bottoms said...

Strike a pose, Whistler,l look this way, look that way and don't say "what?!" to me at the end! There's a reason for everything!

I like the expressions of this bird that you caught. He (she) seems to say, "I've got all the confidence in the world."
However, I don't know what this bird is so you've given me some homework.

Wonderful photos. Glad I wandered over here from Jan n Jer. A whistler was screaming from a rooftop in my neighborhood about a week ago. Must have lost something.

In another time, you and Monet would have made good company.

Cheryl said...

Sometimes I am such a Fruit Loop. I was so completely focused on the Whistler I was looking for its shadow. Took me a minute to realize that the beautiful shadows that gave these shots so much texture had nothing to do with your duck.

You have such beautiful birds and ducks in your area. We attract NO ducks to our pond. (Maybe I should plant more shrubbery). I have to resort to plastic decoys! Thanks for posting these photos.
