And, what a perch he has! Lovely series.
Thank you for the smiles--these always bring them.
Just sitting there thinking... If I were a duck, I'd be that duck!
A lonely one.
Cute little guy! I don't know why these whistlers always make me smile, but they do. :-)
they are such handsome ducks. beautiful
Reflections in the pond makes a nice background for the Whistler!
Love the color of that Whistler and the water too. Apparently those guys never come this far north!
Well he just posed right for the camera, didn't he? :) What a ham.
Great shot. Not often you see a duck standing on a post like that.
I love where you live. Thanks for kind words to sister. Yes home health coming today
He seems to have found the best spot on the pond!
That log has his name on it...
Great shots. What a cool duck.
I really dig the last photo. It is almost as if it wants to say, "AFLAC can kiss my tail feathers!" Stunning photographs once again.
LOL, that duck was giving you some good poses there!
Perfect perch! Perfect view!
Beautiful shot! I love his perch on that snag.
What a great perch. Have a great weekend!
Fabulously fun captures! I love the perch and reflections.
Goofy birds. I love them.
Oh you are so lucky to look out and see these lovely birds everyday. Lucky lucky you. I love the variety you must never be bored. He is a cool one. B
So, did he fly up to that stump? Are these type of ducks better at that sort of thing than mallards? The mallards around here end up doing somersaults when they land and all sort of not very graceful craziness. I can't imagine them landing on a stump in the middle of the pond successfully.
i do love those birds! they are about the prettiest of birds they are.xoxo
He looks regal standing up there on his stump throne.
How much do you have to pay your bird "models" to pose for such great pictures?
I just love these ducks!! Have you ever drawn one?
Strike a pose, Whistler,l look this way, look that way and don't say "what?!" to me at the end! There's a reason for everything!
tres jolie bravo et bon w end
Great photos! I love the last one where he is looking at you.
What a cutie! These guys are quickly turning into one of my favorite birds...
Thanks for the Whistler fix. They just look like such jolly little things.
I like the expressions of this bird that you caught. He (she) seems to say, "I've got all the confidence in the world." However, I don't know what this bird is so you've given me some homework.
What fab shots of the Whistler! I never saw one before, now I have! Have a great weekend!
WoW t, he was quite the poser!! i have never seen them, except here of course!!so, do they whistle at you??
You made some very beautiful photos!
Hands down my favorite bird. So full of character. Great shots.
I never see these adorable ducks here in NC. I loved them last year in your photos!
I love the last picture, with that "What you lookin' at?" expression. Are there any little whistler ducklings running around yet?
Wonderful photos. Glad I wandered over here from Jan n Jer. A whistler was screaming from a rooftop in my neighborhood about a week ago. Must have lost something.
T, wonderful shots! That doesn't look like the most comfortable place to roost, does it! Must be a king of the castle kind of thing!
LOVE the last shotit's as if he's asking if you've taken enough photos and can he move now the water looks like it has been painted inbeautiful
That's quite the perch that duck has found.
I love the Whistler! He's posing for you to take his picture too! I want a Whistler at my house! hehehe

Beautiful! I wish I could have heard it too...
Beautiful photo's! I wish we had a pond so we could attract these birds...maybe one day. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!Maura :)
In another time, you and Monet would have made good company.
Sometimes I am such a Fruit Loop. I was so completely focused on the Whistler I was looking for its shadow. Took me a minute to realize that the beautiful shadows that gave these shots so much texture had nothing to do with your duck.
Those are really cool photos. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see the pond it holding it's own; it make a great source for reflections and you know how much we love those whistlers!
Great shots!Looks like he's posing for you.Love the last.Have a great weekend.Mette

Cool cool duck. Love the lines.
I adore that last one THE BEST! As if he's saying, "huh, hello...I'm trying to have a little privacy here!"...:)JP
That is the sentry on guard duty. Beautiful whistling bird.
The minute I saw "whistler" I could hardly wait to click this post open! You have introduced me to the silliest little ducks I have ever seen and they never fail to make me grin just laying eyes on them. :)

Beaut reflections and, oh, such a poser!
I swear, do the birds all get together and say "Hey Tex is taking pictures again" Who's on the sign up sheet for this week?" You have the most interesting birds come visit you.
I keep thinking someday you're going to show us Whistler's Mother!
Great captures of this loner! I saw quite a few of them arriving at the wetlands here this week...

I can sure see why you like these guys.
"Hey, why you lookin' this way?"
I don't know why, but that last photo made me giggle out loud. Great photos. Thanks for making me smile.
Looks like he was looking for ya!
My whistlers, my whistlers!! And in the last one he is looking at ME! ;-)
Lovely pics of the solitary whistler perched nicely on the tree stump.
I LOVE your Whistler!
Proud and beautiful. But that would hurt my feet.
You have such beautiful birds and ducks in your area. We attract NO ducks to our pond. (Maybe I should plant more shrubbery). I have to resort to plastic decoys! Thanks for posting these photos.
It seems he has been posing for you! :-)
That's a nifty looking bird. He has a feel-good kind of look to him.
He has the perfect observation deck there. Great photos as always!
haha! Love it sitting on the stump all by itself. Must be the sentry for the whistling army. :-)
