I'm giggling - at the end of your post was an advertisement to play "DUCK HUNT."I didn't know there were owls called "Barred Owls" - I've heard of Barn Owls. They are all beautiful to me.

Wow! That’s brilliant and great staring eyes on the night mode. Wonderful presentation on owl! :)

I just love your owl photos! We have a big what I call Hoot Owl that visits us every night. He sits in the oak tree in the backyard calling conversing with another one way down in the woods. Love listening to them as long as he leaves my chickens along. :)

I have rarely seen owls myself, and never more than one at a time. You live in a little paradise, don't you? :)
I slowly scrolled and added my own hoot commentary .. they are indeed fascinating birds
They look very wise.
A couple who keep their distance.
Owls are elusive birds and I'm amazed at your photos, T!

I last saw a pair of owls on the canal near where I live--an amazing and rare sight!
Owls! Wow -- I'm impressed; they are such elusive birds. We hear them but I rarely see them and then its just at dusk swooping across the road.
What wonderful pictures... I love the sound of the owls... we often have one or two around our place.
Wow, These are awesome thanks for telling me my profile pic ws missing. I had to delete some of my photos from Picasa. When I went to upload a new post it said I was out of room. Has tht ever happened to you?
Wonderful captures and to get 2 owls at a time. I love the night mode shots. It makes their eyes light up.
I love it when your owls come back, or they might have been there for awhile. I love owls and I love that shot with the look on the owls face like, " I am just shutting my eyes now, I am not looking."
I can imagine your excitement faced with this amazing sight. I'll bet your heart was pounding!Fantastic shots!

Not one but 2 owls. How cool is that? Great shots.
I LOVE owls! And what terrific captures! They look as though they can see forever! You do have some of the most wonderful critters -- winged and otherwise in your world!!
Wow, you got some great shots! This is a bird that has eluded me since I became interested in bird photography. I sure hope one day I get to see one and have the 400mm lens with me!
T, Oh what a treat to see owls! Great shots!
Mmmmmh! Great photos! Hope I get a chance to capture some owl photos!
Oh how I wish I could see an owl just hanging around on our place instead of only after it gets electrocuted or ripped apart by a murder of crows. I love, love, love that second shot - the first one with the two owls.
What awesome pictures, to see birds like that hanging around is great! The one picture when he is looking directly at you is kinda spooky. So cool!
Superb photos! I love owls so much!
Great shots, Theresa! I hear an owl now and then, but never see it. I love their faces!
Great pictures you took of owls. Wishing you a good evening :) Hugs
These are wonderful pictures of them.
I occasionally hear owls out here but I haven't ever seen them.
Great shots of the owls!! I'd love to come across an owl or two one day. I must say, since I started linking with WBW in October last year, I have been disovering new birds everywhere and find myself identifying & reading so much information. I have come across birds I never imagined seeing, like the terns in this weeks post (my post next week will include a few more). As always I love visiting your blog :)
Great photos. Though I live around woods, I've seen only one owl in 8 years: And that was silhouetted against a darkening sky! The detail in your pics are beautiful. Thanks.
Every time you post you aggravate my backyard envy problem. Such interesting visitors and great photos!
oooohhhhh these are just great. it looks a lil like he snubbing you in the last one, or perhaps he was falling asleep!! double the pleasure, lucky you!!
Wonderful! The flash didn't seem to bother them at all. Love the last one. I think he just got bored of all the pictures and nodded off....
Great photos! I don't see many owls here. I love the pic where he's looking at you!
Absolutely wonderful images of the Barred Owls. Did they hoot, "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you all?" ;-)
Could they be any dang cuter?! Love that you were able to get so many great shots.

Great photos. Your pond certainly attracts a lot of interesting visitors.
Hi TexWisGirl, Outstanding Owl shots! We have at least one Barred Owl near our house but I have never seen it - only heard late night hoots. Have a great day
Fabulous! And such clear shots too!

Those were AWESOME! I love owls. sandie
Beautiful birds! We have a great horned owl, but I can't get close enough to him to get his picture. We also had a tiny little white owl for a while, but haven't seen him in a few weeks. I meant to ask you last week, we have seen two huge birds a couple of times, black with white tips and white throat and orange/yellow beak. I looked them up and I think they are called Mexican Eagles. I haven't seen them around here before, have you?
Beautiful series!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
The barred owl is a cool visitor to your pond. Wonderful sighting and photos, Theresa.

I'm gonna say it! I'm jealous! That's not fair! just kidding lol You get to see such amazing animals there at your pond. You are so lucky! I've seen one owl before but not two together like that. That is just incredible! I do hear one around my house but I've not seen him yet. Thanks for sharing those incredible pictures with us!
They are just magnificent! Wow! :)
ah! Such wonderful shots you got of the sweet barred owls!!
How amazing that you've captured these photos! No wonder you have so many hits! Nicely done!!!!
You are awesome. You must know this....you. are. awesome! I LOVE Barred Owls. You are very lucky to have such a special place that owls can say, "I'm stopping here." The other day I had a snake in midtown stop by my garden and it was success. If an owl ever stops by El Presidio, it will be my greatest honor to have it call our place home. Thank you for sharing!
Add me to these many who love owls, but I have rarely seen them over the years. Mostly up at the top of a tall, tall tree, nothing so close as you were able to get.Great pics!Cheers,Jo
Great shots! They don't seem to mind you and your camera in the least.
Amazing! Two... bloody awesome!
Wow! Great shots on the owls! Its eyes were so attentive....
Great captures of these beautiful owls! :)
Wow, beautiful owls! I like the glowing eyes in your flash shots. I never see owls. I hear them sometimes, but never get to see them.
How much did you have to pay these Owl "models" to come pose for this many pictures. My luck would have been as soon as I took picture all I would have to show for it is a bunch of tail feathers retreating to the sky. LOL. I have proof, have pictures of just dog's tail, or half of a lamb.Once again beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing.
How lucky you were to have such lovely visitors. Owls have always been my favorite bird but I rarely get to see them in the wild.
Great shots! You're so lucky to have those beautiful owls visiting.I can hear them here, but I'm never lucky enough to see them.
I love owls. I have a huge one that hangs around my house. Although, I worry about him snatching up my little Tater Tot dog.
I've heard them in the woods next door, late in the evening, but have never seen them. Great pics.
How neat is that! And to see two of them is even better. Funny you should post this now...hubby and i saw what I think was a young Horned Owl on the side of the road on Sunday...we think it got blown out of the nest with the high winds. It was NOT going to let us catch it so I hope it survived the night. Great photo's Theresa! :)
Wow...that must have been such a thrill to spot them...and even more of a thrill to capture them with your camera. Great job...especially at dusk!
Great shots! I wish I could find an owl that would sit still ong enough for me to get a good photo.
Fantastic capture! Wonderful series in the changing light. Love the headlight eyes at dusk.
You're so lucky!!! To get to take this many pictures of owls...
Who? Who? Who are you? Who are you when I'm not looking?
Ooo, LOVE these. Owls are so haunting!!!
