A very interesting effect.
We seem to have a bumper crop of butterflies this year. Great pictures.
With such beautiful colors and designs, butterflies are easily my favorite insect. I can't even call them insects. I like the reflection also.
So pretty and delicate . . . look at those tiny legs . . . having the camera right there ready was perfect . . .

Wow, you even caught such detail in the antennae. Very beautiful.
This time, Theresa...I have no words....KISSES
What a great capture T!
Beautiful little butterfly. I love when they flit from tiny flower to tiny flower, sometimes many at a time~
Lovely! The antennae look springy, I imagine them saying "ba-doing".Also, "reverberated its image"... so cool I have the words for that now!
Extra pretty!xo Catherine
Cool pics, I like the reflection too! Happy Memorial Day Weekend:@)
I like the idea of using glass for the background! I am always amazed at the textures in their wings. We have swallowtail eggs, unusually early this year. A nasty thunderstorm wiped a bunch of them out, but at least one survived.
So pretty! Glad he cooperated and let you get close enough to use your macro. Nice job, Tex!
Gorgeous...nice capture with the reflections!

Gorgeous photos. I love butterflies and moths. I'm living in Japan and find it odd my mother in law and husband don't like them. They say they're too "powdery".

Open-wing butterfly shots are nearly impossible for me. Once again I am greatly amazed at your photog skills.
That butterfly is gorgeous, and you captured it beautifully.
he's like a tiny stained-glass window. so pretty and delicate.
Since my sixteen month old puppychewed up my specticals one day last week, and my spare pair the next,I've been eagerly awaiting he arrival of my new glasses.Thank goodness they arrived today!!At last I can start visiting again.I love the photo of the Pearl Crescent, male I think! We don't get them here. It's such a pleasure to see them on your blog.Fantastic shots!!
I call that "stuttering" photo reflections. LOLIt is a crisp image. A good one of the butterfly.I have still only seen one Cabbage White Butterfly this season and one Monarch just passed through.
Lovin' butterflies. I tried your idea to feed them with fruit. It didn't seem to work here. I moved the plate to various places, away from the birds, near the birds, in the shade, in the sun (too hot - fruit dried too quickly) and fed apples, grapes, bananas, and blueberries. I even kept the plate under the spice tree where we've had tons of swallowtails the past couple of weeks. They weren't biting. After a week I took the plate down.
very beautiful!i like all of your shots!very nicely done:)
Oh, wow. Excellent images. You really nailed the focus on these. Bravo!
Nice! I don't know if I've seen one of these before. really pretty!
Well isn't that cool...you don't need any photoshop when you've got your own special affects from the glass! Thanks for mentioning the name of the butterfly...I've seen a few and didn't know what they were called. Enjoy your day!Maura :)
Great pictures you show of a butterfly. There is a proverb that says that a butterfly means a long and happy life. Thanks for the comment on my blog. Right pt. We have solar + 27.9 degrees here ....
