Butterfly echoes

A tiny Pearl Crescent butterfly perched on the sliding glass doors one day. I liked how the tempered glass reverberated its image.

Beautiful little butterfly. I love when they flit from tiny flower to tiny flower, sometimes many at a time~

Lovely! The antennae look springy, I imagine them saying "ba-doing".

Also, "reverberated its image"... so cool I have the words for that now!

I like the idea of using glass for the background! I am always amazed at the textures in their wings.

We have swallowtail eggs, unusually early this year. A nasty thunderstorm wiped a bunch of them out, but at least one survived.

Gorgeous photos. I love butterflies and moths. I'm living in Japan and find it odd my mother in law and husband don't like them. They say they're too "powdery".

Since my sixteen month old puppy
chewed up my specticals one day last week, and my spare pair the next,I've been eagerly awaiting he arrival of my new glasses.

Thank goodness they arrived today!!At last I can start visiting again.

I love the photo of the Pearl Crescent, male I think! We don't get them here. It's such a pleasure to see them on your blog.Fantastic shots!!

Honest Abe said...

I call that "stuttering" photo reflections. LOL

It is a crisp image. A good one of the butterfly.

I have still only seen one Cabbage White Butterfly this season and one Monarch just passed through.

Kathy said...

Lovin' butterflies. I tried your idea to feed them with fruit. It didn't seem to work here. I moved the plate to various places, away from the birds, near the birds, in the shade, in the sun (too hot - fruit dried too quickly) and fed apples, grapes, bananas, and blueberries. I even kept the plate under the spice tree where we've had tons of swallowtails the past couple of weeks. They weren't biting. After a week I took the plate down.
