Texas Barns in Plain Vanilla

Nothing fancy about these barns. Just a bit of fencery in front to help them out.

Okay, the barn in the back looks like it would have some charm to lend.
And just because I like last week's barn so much, I'll give you one more shot.
Linking to Barn Charm

hey there. i really like the 3rd or last shot. such great views. have a great week. (:

I wonder what is the reason we are so captivated by barns? I am always "hooked" by the sight of a barn. Maybe it is the longing for the older, simpler times...whatever it is, your barn photos are always enjoyable!

Betty Roan said...

Another fine selection of barns and I do like that last one. Nice to see it again. Everything looks so green are you getting plenty of rain?

rkbsnana said...

Yep, very utilitarian. (How'd you like that big word)

Gail said...

Plain vanilla works for me. Any barn will do the job although I dream of one of the fancy one.

CameraCruise said...

Great shots of the barns.
Love the last one.

Enjoyed the barns. Last one I like more.

Great captures. If I had to choose a fave, it would be the last one. :)

Sandra said...

love that last one, because of the trees. beautiful. and the vanilla in the field looks like it would be horribly hot with no shade.

DJan said...

So nice and green! They may be utilitarian, but they are still nice to look at. Thanks for sharing them with me. :-)

I liked "vanilla barns " and I really liked the repeat of last week with the leaning to the right wire fence . . . lots of Barn Charm!

edenhills said...

I just look at all those barns and think about how many goats could live in them comfortably.

Daryl Edelstein said...

Dont get to see many barn up here in the Big Apple but I do have a love for snapping them and I have more luck with barns than I do with moons ..

Sue said...

Our barns aren't as 'fancy'as yours. I do occasonally see a good old one around here. Wait till my new camera arrives ...I'll be on the lookout. Love the pics. Sue

Love your barns and fences! You always manage to find more...Good work!

Vanilla is underrated, in my humble opinion. ;)

Utilitarian, not fancy, is the best descriptor of the typical Texas barn.

Whatever turns you on, lol.

I really like the last one.

Liked the barns but I really love the lush, green pastures. Very nice.

I hate reading your posts. They remind me over and over how bad my old camera is and how much I miss my new camera which is still being repaired. OK, I don't really hate your posts. I just have focus envy.

Great barn shots! I especially like the last image.

heyBJK said...

I like the "vanilla", especially against the green leaves and grass! Makes the barns really stand out. The last one with the rust is cool, though!

Janet said...

Except for the green, grassy pastures, the barns would look at home here.

Robin said...

T, great shots! It sure is nice and green around there! Is the drought officially over? I hope so

Great barn tour! :-)

Hi TexWisGirl, Those barns look mainly useful except for that last one. The first one looks like a combo shop and barn but that is speculation on my part. Nice pictures. Have a wonderful Tuesday tomorrow!

Pam said...

The last barn looks like I sometimes feel, but non the less charming.
cheers

I like vanilla ice cream...oh I mean barns

I like these barns Tex. They are neat, clean and being used. They are charming sitting in all that green. And the fences are an extra treat of charming, yes.

I love the great photographs of those barns! They are like windmills, I love them!!

Paula said...

I like the old barns like the last one but I can't help but wonder why they didn't keep them up. There are so many like that around here. Maybe the men are like John and not think that is important.

Helene said...

Such beautiful photography!!!

It's amazing how you're able to capture the beauty in such a simple scene. If I took those same pics, I can guarantee they wouldn't be as spectacular...LOL!

Marissa @Life On Our Side Of The Mountain said...

That last barn looks so much like an old barn here in my area.

A wind storm looks like it could blow this structure down! Scary:) I don't think I'd put anything in them:)

Oh those barns, we still have our eye on 2 properties which have shearing sheds as options to purchase, they are just fantastic, of course, i'd convert to a studio, imagine that!! Rustic on the outside, glorious & cosy on the inside, love Posie

The barns may be plain vanilla, but sitting in the lush green grass they look beautiful. Good to see after the drought last year.

The last one is my favorite, I think. It makes me sad to think all the lovely old barns will one day no longer stand. So glad people like you capture them in photos to remember.

Gail Dixon (Louisiana Belle) said...

I like vanilla! Looks like it's greening up nicely there. :)

SquirrelQueen said...

I really like the whitewashed look of the first one. All barns are great, plain or colorful.

Mike said...

I call them metal ones, equipment sheds or garages. Barns are made of wood, red or grey in color. Still nice pics to look at, though.

Lisa RedWillow said...

It is surprising to see such small barns in Texas. Considering everything is supposedly 'bigger in Texas'.

They are cute!
