Is this truly a bird of Texas or did someone let a "pet" loose? I don't recall ever seeing one the three years we lived in San Antonio.
It sure is a beauty! Getting ready to journey out. Take care~
i would be so excited if i saw one of these colorful birds in our yard...or woods!!if they still hang around in the fall...when the leaves turn all the fiery colors...they might be just a little harder to spot...well, except for their blue!!great shots theresa!! happy sunday!
I am a Texan and I have yet to see a Painted Bunting. Wow! We do have a colorful bird here in Western Colorado...A Western Tanager.
How lucky you are Tex!
I don't think we had a painted bunting all summer, although the indigo bunting stayed much longer than usual.

How gorgeous - I can't imagine seeing a bird that colorful "in real life"!
Guess not everyone can be perfect...
I love this guy. I wonder if he is the "very same" one from a few posts back. How satisfying to know these creatures come back. You probably worked a while to capture him, follow him and to get this story together. Nice job.
How pretty he is! I wish we had birds that colorful around here, Tex. I love the captures, and I noticed the same junco would come back year after year with a growth over his eye. Otherwise I wouldn't have known it was the same one.
I like the yellow. Unique.
He is so pretty! I never see anything like him around here.
Wow, what a colorful bird... it's a first look for me!
That is the prettiest odd ball I have ever seen.

What a gorgeous bird T! Looks like one you would only find in the tropics! Wow!
I've always a fan of the 'oddball'. I think he's quite handsome at the feeder, all the girls must go wild!
They're beautiful birds! It looks like somebody threw a hodge podge of paint at them. Is this the only one that shows up or are there others? Never seen one other than in photos.
