I really like your photos of the Wood Ducks. Curious, do you go "out and about" to catch pictures of birds, ducks and animals or are they near your home area? I know the dogs are yours . . . I enjoy the variety and most certainly . . . all of your photos.

What beautiful colors and markings! There are 9 ducks around our yard that follow me around (for bread and/or corn); I think ours are mallards, but they're SO sweet!

the first time i saw a wood duck, was at Jungle gardens, he was swimming a few feet away from me and i said to Diane what is that? she said a wood duck. i said why would they name a beautiful painted duck Wood? she did not know and did not care either.

RoeH said...

I'm so dumb. When I saw the title I thought - actual wooden ducks and I was going to tell a wooden duck story of one of the many times in my life with my size 7 1/2B mouth. :( Love these though.

Pretty duckies. I had two at the stock tank this morning watching me feed the turtles.

Sally said...

Love the close ups!

There was a mama duck this morning with about 8 of the tiniest babies I've seen; they were in the middle of the road out of the subdivision. I saw 3 cars approaching (while I was walking) so I put my hand up to stop the cars and herded them to the side. I have seen more than one that has been hit, and it sickens me!!

I guess the decoys are very life-like.
