Lovely serie of this Owl Teresa.Greetings, Joop
lovely to see this owl in your own space Theresa
Sure like the looks of this guy (red eyes and all). I bet the flash had him seeing spots for awhile!
Owls are just so magnificent aren't they? Fantastic!xo Catherine
Oh, how funny! I posted a barred owl today too. :))
Great pics! I love owls. We have a little screech owl that hangs around. Kinda of spooky but I love listening to him.
You were so lucky to find this guy, and the photos--oh my, they are amazing.
Just love the owls! Those eyes look like they could see right through you... ;)

What a BEAUTY!
a handsome creature ...
Love your owl. There are a such a treat to capture out in the wild....let alone around your pond area!
These are great pictures. Either you cropped them severely or you were very close. Either way they look amazing.
Well, hello there, pretty. Your eyes are supposed to be red! ooowwwwoooo.... :-)
"You again," said the owl,"no disturb please."
They are amazing birds and I love to listen to them. Nice pictures Tex.
Those glowing eyes intensify its beauty. Awesome captures, T.I'm green with envy ~:)
I love owls, and you crack me up!
WAU - where some great pictures showing of an owl.Hanne Bente
Hello TexWisGirlThanks for your comment :)Hanne Bente
Great captures, I NEVER see owls around my parts. Such a beautiful bird.
He looks so majestic. Awesome shots.
Heehee sounds like me, I always miss a setting in my hurry to get the shots. He is really cute though and you were lucky he played!
love those eyes! So intense.
Great close, close-ups.
ja ik hoorde dat ze meestal op de zelfde plaats terugkomen dus wie weet.
You've got some GREAT shots here. I'm not sure if the red-eye reduction would work for an owl. On people, the flash pulses lower power light to cause the pupil constrict. I'm not sure of the owl's pupil will react the same way. You can remove red-eye after the fact with photoshop or gimp
I love owls. This is a great series.
Well I'm green-eyed with envy over your beautiful owl!
hands down my favorite of all your birds.....he or she is BEAUTIFUL......you know me and the owls!
Oh.My.Gosh!LOVE, love love these! Great shots! I wouldn't change a thing. This is your perfect Halloween card for next year. :)
I love all the details of the feathers!!what a beautythe red eye adds a cool touch I've been without power since last Monday, I've missed your photos
A wonderful series of fine close ups of there birds. I like the red-eye in this case since it gives the owls an attitude (whether they have one or not) :-)
Oh fantastic, red eyes and all!
Very cooperative owl. I love the electric eyes-- great for Halloween!
He's gorgeous.I have a package notification at the post office!
The red-eye is kinda neat!
Hi Teresa!Gorgeous photographic series.I do not know birds. This is an owl or owl?Regards

Eye eye eye, ha ha ha. Love the Barred Owl.
Wow, great close up shot of the Barred Owl! Love this night shots..
I think he looks cute with red eye's. Owl's are said to be wise....i wonder if he knows who is going to win your election ?peter
Beautiful!!! Jim and I saw an owl at twilight the other night that flew in front of us and landed on a telephone pole...Awesome sight!
Oh, wow! These are fantastic photos! Wonderful detail! I've never been a fraction this close to an owl. Great shots!
What a beauty.
This is one of your best series yet! I hear an owl each evening when I let the dogs out, but dang if I can find it! That's one elusive creature.
Great pictures! Love Owls.
hit the right .. shows no fear and looks great ..but flash in animal eyes is not as nice ...greetings Frank
I think the owl is one of the most interesting birds! I love their heart shaped faces. You did a wonderful job capturing this guy!
the red eye adds charachter...
I do love that spooky bugger!! Amazing eyes!!
Whoooo can be so lucky!
Love owl shots. THey are such gorgeous birds.
Great shots, regardless of the red eye. For some reason, ONE of my granddaughters always has red eye, when nobody else does and when I try to edit it, it looks freaky as all get out.
Great pictures of the owl.Hugs
Great photos of the Owl. It's great that you got the bird in so many different poses.
What a wonderful "face" this guy has--and such wonderful markings. Just the other night I took Chet out rather late and heard an owl calling from its tree perch. A sound to love.
What a lovely owl, it even looks great with red eyes. From Findlay
grumble, grumble, I feel a sunset coming on! LOL
Wow you got a real good view of this beautiful bird. I bet you were extremely quiet when you took these shots!
So so so beautiful !!!...love Ria...xxx..
I love this type of animals, so fascinating, loved it!
Terrific series. The Barred Owl is one of my very favorite sounds in the woods and swamp.-Wally
Wonderful, wonderful! These are absolutely awesome Theresa!
Oh wow, these are fantastic shots of the owl. I would have fallen out of my shoes to get these.
Wow, wow....what can I say....great capture!
Bardzo lubię te nocne ptaki. Świetne zdjęcia. Pozdrawiam.I really like these nocturnal birds. Great pictures. Yours.
They would be great for Halloween I liked how his eyes glow in the dark. I think you got beautiful shots today.
Very cool shots- you are so lucky to be able to capture this guy.
Great shots! We have olws here to!
Hi Theresa, Fantastic pictures of the owl. That owl has some serious talons! Have a fine Wednesday tomorrow!
With or without red eyes the shots are nice Tex :)
He looks very wise.
A beautiful owl! It looks rather cool with the effect from the flash :)
ooohhhh t, these are just wonderful. i adore photography, in it's most natural form.hold the camera, shoot the image. keep it simple, keep it real!!just my opinion....but that's the way i like it. i love these pictures and he's a real cutie!!
Red eyes or not, they are great shots!
Well, first I have to say that using the red-eye stopper on your camera would've ruined it for me. When I wrote my book Toad Cottages and Shooting Stars, the Barred owl was one of my favorite pairs of eyes to depict for the eye-glow (tapetum) section for children. FABULOUS.We've been in Texas for a few days and have loved every minute of it. First at The Natural Gardener in Austin, then up in Stephenville, now down in Austin again to do a filming of Central Texas Gardener on KLRU. We have really enjoyed all the gracious people here.Best,Sharon
Theresa great shots. I love how close you were able to get. The barn owls up here don't drink as much as yours and hence ours don't have the red eyes ;)
Great pictures of this fella, love the close-up shots! :)
I just noticed Steve's comment before me!! ROTFL!!
Super close-ups of the Barred Owl Theresa! Even though these owls are displacing Spotted Owls in the West, I have yet to see one!
These are spectacular, Theresa. I took some pictures of an owl several years ago, using a flash, and got the resulting red eye. I tried to edit it out, but my hubby preferred the red-eyed version. He liked the spooky look of it. I ought to dig those photos out and take another look at them. They won't be any competition for yours, though. These are just wonderful.
I like the red eyes but then as you know I'm not a photographer.
how COOOOOL!!!!! Aloha from HonoluluComfort Spiral ~ > < } } ( ° >> < 3 3 3 ( ° > ><}}(°>~
Dearest Theresa,Wow, still you got some amazing photos! Funny the photo with one black and one red eye...Hugs to you,Mariette
Oh.. such an amazing creature. You got really good shots and the owl was really patient with that flash!
Ooooh, terrific shots of the Owl!
Great captures Theresa!! It must be lovely to capture these owls on your own property!
Wonderful series! He looks like a spooky Halloween owl.
So cute! I love those little feet and legs.
Not removing that red eye gives it a special effect :-)
so cute creatures!!owls are just so beautiful, aren't they?
Wooo!!!.. Just beautiful!!.. I love owls.. Congrat..
Gorgeous pictures of the owl, great series.
Brilliant series.... arn`t Owls just amazing!
Do you have a bunk that is open ... I am on my way:) I love the Barred Owls, but we rarely see them in the wild up here. They like deep woods and riparian areas that are hard to get to at night. I would sell my soul (not quite) to be able to listen to a pair conversing at night ... they are amazing. Enjoyed!Andrea @ From The Sol
Wow!! These are great... I LOOOOVE owls!I've been hearing a screech owl behind our barn for a month now... I would LOVE to get his (or her) picture!!
What gorgeous feathers!!!
Love these photos! I think owls are pretty cool.
Really good pictures!! The Barred Owl is by far one of my favorites that we have around here--I didn't see them that often this year, but hearing them was almost as good!!
Isn't he grand! Terrific series of shots.
Love these shots. Owls are on the top of my list. Amazing birds!
He's so gorgeous! I just love looking at the owl pictures because they aren't something you see every day. It is amazing to see how strong those legs are on that bird too!
These are fabulous!!!! Outstanding....in a tree....hahahahaNo, they are seriously wonderful.
Barred Owls are right up at the top of my very special faves, when it comes to Raptors. You were so blessed to get these beauties~
Wow, incredible shots. You really got up close and personal with this guy!
