This crow is eyeing everything. they are clever. I have never been up close to a crow. These are great shots Tex..There was a blackbird in my garden earlier.. but i am not quick enough with my camera.val
I read recently that crows are very smart. Some believe that they actually mourn their dead.
I think he thinks he owns that birdbath, :)
I think he is keeping an eye on YOU!
Can't believe you caught such a good blink!! =D blessings ~ tanna
CAW CAW!!!!!... wonderful pictures of the Crow.....interesting bird.....Blessings Francine.
He is very handsome!
He's got a goofy way of standing there! Great close up on him?her? You can see his ruffled feathers and he has a teeny seed? in his beak.
i've always been one who loves black birds. i find they are awesome. love the feathers. a blinking one too. that's awesome!! (:
He's a pretty boy, for a crow.
ja je duikt niet zomaar het water in ,eerst even kijken ofdat niemand het ziet.
he's thinking .. this bath is too small for a big kahuna like me ...
I love walking in the woods and hearing them cawing around me.
Brilliant close ups. Have a fabulous Friday.Best wishes Molly
did this handsome dude say Never More, Never More???
lovely crow shots
Makes me want to start quoting Poe....but that was a Raven. LOL Nevermore Nevermor. Anyway.... Have a good weekend.
I also thought it was a raven, not a crow. Whatever, it's a big guy!
A handsome fellow looking for something shiny to steal! Doesn't he have a spoooky winky eye.
I do believe that Crow is admiring it's reflection in the water of the bird bath!
Crows. They steal my pecans every year.(argh)
Could capture of the blink! Have a great weekend, T.
Whoops, meant Good capture!
I think crows are such good looking birds. You got some GREAT captures!
The eyes in the last shot are positively freaky.
Who would have thought? That crow is beautiful...every detail!
I remember crows in Texas. We have a few in northern Arkansas, but suspect the southern are where agriculture is a major part of the landscape, crows ae more prolific.
Great captures of the crow. Most of our crow population is gone...not sure why, obviously flew away to a better place.
Excellent photo! Makes me want a bird bath.
Sounds like one of those mysterious songs that tells a story! =0
a good-looking bird-that's for sure!love your shots:)
HE IS definitely giving you the eye.
nice shots! especially like the third one.
Nice pics you show, of the crow. Many of oure crows are hunting the birds of prey.Hanne Bente
Cool shots on the crow!
He's so cute! I love crows!
it be fun to have one as a pet. i bet he'd be smart enough to keep these pugs in line. although, that could spell trouble, couldn't it...
I love Crows; so intelligent.
Great shots! The crow seems to be posing for you.
The crows are scardy cats, flying the second you move so I'm guessing you had a good vantage point to get so many fantastic shots. We have so many in the fields picking up as much winter rye seed as possible before the snow flies. I enjoy your photos so much. ThanksBlessya
Oh, he is a handsome fellow...The Man in Black.
He looks like he had a hard trip. I like that you caught that blink.
He is so mean looking! Great shots!
He's posing nicely for you!
Great shots! Love the blink!
Seeing this guy reminded me of the large Ravens that hang out in Yosemite. At one time five were surrounding Sinbad squaking away while he was out on his rope. 5 against one - not fair. Sinbad wasn't concerned in the least. I had to go out and shoosh them away for some peace and quiet.
Smart birds them crows and ravens. At least they aren't the bird feeder raiders I have in the jays! And what do you mean you don't like my pants! LOL ;)
Boy, you really got some great shots of him. Love the blink in the last shot. :)
Nice photo of the crow. They are too wary to drink from my bird bath. But they are such smart birds and I like crows. I enjoy the caws and other sounds they make.
Nice shots! I like crows but I'm not sure why? :)
The schoolyard bullies? Recently I had a whole bunch in an orange leaved tree--very Halloween.
Crow, honey, can we talk? Everyone knows that black goes with everything, but there's got to be a little "everything" included, do you see? How about some red shoes, or some nice bangles? And for goodness sake, smiiiiiile. There! You're beautiful.
Ah, we have these fellows in droves, flying all around the complex at night as well as day! They frequently park on the window box outside my office and stare at me!! They give a Halloween feel to every night!!!
We have huge ravens up here that talk to us all winter in town!
Awesome pics! I love them.
tres reussi bravo !
I just love the blink shot : so funny, the way you comment it... I was wondering : do you know what this crow had in its beek, this tiny red sphere ? Was it a fruit ? It looks harder than a fruit, in fact...
fabulous photos! I really like when they blink. :)
Thaks for your visit, your comment and your answer, Teresa : have a nice week-end ahead.
Lovely Crow. Is it a "Carrion Crow" like we have over here?
Great series of shots! They look so suave and sophisticated in their black duds.
Looks like someone is molting. Glad I'm not the only one with my eyes closed in a photo.
Such a pretty boy
Nice serie of photos. He can study himself in the "mirror!.
very good photos, good definition the bird looks so nice :P
as always, hats off to you and your photography!
Great shots, but I do not like crows with their beady eyes and kaw-kawing. I do not like them Sam I Am

Crows are interesting to watch. These are great close ups!Lindy
Maintaining the status crow. (groan) That is a beautiful bird, and I never thought I'd say that about crows. But it's beautiful, isn't it! :-)
I can't help but like crows. They are so mischievous!
I love crows.
caught very nice ... so in black see these birds from dangerous but if you watch them you can see that there are very intelligent animals ..greetings Frank
Crows, in all for their raucousness, are among my favorite birds. You got some terrific shots of this one! Whenever I point my camera at a crow it immediately takes off, smart rascal.
A great series of shots of the crow.
Is that a little red seed in his mouth? Do you use a tripod for shots like this? How in the world do you manage to get a series with such great focus?
Great pictures, I like this crow...and the reflections in the water. Enjoy your weekend!
Really good shots!
I LOVE these pictures! The ravens and crows are my favorite birds! :)
Really good captures, Theresa. I especially liked the one where he looked as if he was judging the depth, deciding if it was suitable for diving.
Great captures of this Black beauty Tex! Have a great weekend!!
I like the shot in the middle where he looks like he's looking in his reflection!
I sometimes find it difficult to imagine crows being bothered about sanitation. Nice to see they care!
Terrific captures of this cautious crow! Excellent!
Yes he is!
I like those very aggressive birds. Always reminds me of a childhood poem I knew once.
He's a beauty, great photos. I love those crows. Had a few around again today. They make me smile.
They seem so regal somehow.have a great weekend
That blink completely caught me by surprise. I thought it might have a cataract. Eek!Dandy photos of one of my least favorite birds to hear. I like to watch 'em just fine but holy crap, the noise they make when squabbling is unbearable.
Great shots, I always enjoy seeing the birds at the birdbath. I've been seeing lots of crows in flight, I assume they are migrating? Have a great weekend!
A splendid series of pictures of this black guy, you've done and is wonderful to behold. I love .. birds, especially the blue tits and robins and your pictures are really great! The heartiest greetings, Luise Lotte
Beautiful shots! We have crows at Autumn here!Happy November month!Dimi..
Crows love bird baths. They like to soak their food in the water. They leave chicken bones in the water hoping that they will soften.
Do you supply towels at your bath? ;)Love the images. We're in FL, on the way to the ship for ten weeks. We'll both get in to see you here when we can get other blogs to load without timing out. Take care!!Lois and Kjell, too.
AH, Northern Wisconsin's colorful winter bird...that and those flesh eating chickadees...;)
He's sure guarding his spot!
Oh my the funny expressions. They annoy me early in the morning, before anything is moving the crows are up and cawing away!!!
I so enjoy Crows and Ravens alike...just such intellingent and fun birds to observe. The images are wonderful. Happy weekend~
With our power out for 3+ days, 'bird TV' was all I had--The crows really are an interesting bird to watch--They had something to do, and I found myself envious of them! :-)
Photogenic crow -- he's even cute when he blinks.
Dearest Theresa,Your teenage crow looks nice and fluffy. Loved the text: blink...Hugs to you,Mariette
Wants to make sure you get him from all angles!
Crows need to drink too. :) Awesome pictures, my friend!!
It is proof that you are an excellent photographer - you made a crow look good. I used to be scared of them, now a days they show up in bunches (herds? flocks?) or 6 or more - I never see a Lone Crow. Happy Weekend.
sheen shine and all attitude!Aloha from Waikiki, Comfort Spiral > < } } ( ° > > < } } (°> <°)333><( ~
someone is having a great time...great shots girl...
I would have sworn I was looking out my own window. We have crows on our birdbath almost daily :) This morning we woke to the sound of geese heading your direction! 'love & hugs from afar'
Great capture of this bad boy!
Add me to the crow lovers here! A most interesting bird, and if you see them when the sun hits them just right, they go irridescent. Do you ever see Ravens in your travels?Cheers,Jo
Over here in Sweden the bird world is dominated by Jackdaws which are a type of crow. After that it's those obstinate stubborn belligerent Magpies. But we still love'm anyway.
You have a lot of visitors at your bath...great to see. I have one in our garden that my father made but I have to clean it and use it.
I love crows = these are amazing captures of "his highness."
The water in my bird bath is frozen! Poor Saskatchewan birds! :( LOL!xo Catherine
Oh no! Where is everyone else?
Great photos...but what is it with you and creepy black birds...lol
Even big old crows need a bath and a drink! sandie
Cool shots! It's definitely the first time I've seen a crow using a birdbath! Nobody's gonna run him off!
I am not usually a bird watcher, but if I could find birds as pretty as this one, I might start.
Hello Theresa,Wonderful shots of this bird.Very nice!!Many greetings, Marco
I really like these. I've never seen a crow at a birdbath - awesome!
