Such a delicate beautiful creature. B
Love those little bird baths! That's a cute picture of him having a drink. They are sweet birds...
Lovely scene...Enjoy your day !Pierre
Teally plunges into the water. Great close-ups.
Love the soft pewter of the Dove . . . nice Theresa . . .
We have many doves here, I love them. Ours are the same, without the banded neck.
Oh, so beautiful... I love the soft grey color... and that necklace is divine. ;) blessings ~ tanna
These are super shots Tex.. you know how I love doves. The dove drinking from the bird bath is such a great photo.happy wednesday.val
she's so pretty! great pics of her!
Nothing like just diving right in! ;))
Beautiful... your photos have such a wonderful feeling of peace.
What a pretty "necklace" he has on :)
I love the color of these birds. Like a creamy blush pink/gray, if there is such a color. Beautiful shots, as always.
Amazing how it's almost the same colour as the bird bath!
Beautiful captures... I find the neck ring so good :)
Very pretty. Have a wonderful wordless Wednesday.Best wishes Molly
Did you know we have a hunting season for doves here in Wisconsin...who could kill one of those cuties??
Such elegant creatures!
Oh. She's so sweet.
Sure seeing lots more of these ring necked doves in the last few years. Makes it a treat to see the more petite native Mourning Dove!
Awwww.... how precious! I LOVE doves~ They have such sweet eyes.
They are beautiful birds. Love the last photo. Talk about getting into it!!!
What a beautiful dove, I really love the colour.
Nice shots of the Dove! We get those here as well. There's quite a few that hang around over the winter. My local bird guru pointed out that the Dove photo I posted a few days ago, had his toes frozen off - hence no toenails! I hadn't even noticed. They have fleshy toes, and will freeze if exposed too long. I ask myself, why don't they migrate out at wintertime???
Doves are my most favorite of our birds here and they are so dumb and so beautiful... they will sit on the ground and we can almost walk up to them, i shoo them away so Jake doesn't get them, then the silly hawk comes and swoops them off the power wires. they are just like these but I did not know the name of them.
Morning......oh my, such a pretty bird....love Doves and my Father was so fond of them to, makes my heart happy to see them, thanks, Blessings Francine.
Nice shots, haven't seen any of these this early this spring.
Nice pictures you show a very beautiful dove :)Hanne Bente
Beautiful bird! You captured him so closely.
Beautiful birds.Especially in the morning. The dove has just awakened.
Very nice shots!Good day!Crissi
Beautiful pictures of Collared dove .. A greeting.
Nice post. Doves are always welcome visitors at one's feeder or bird bath. The Eurasian Collared Doves are beautiful. We have some here in SW Florida, but I find them quite shy. Thanks for sharing your photos.
It looks slightly different from the ones we have in HK. Nice shots.
We have mourning doves, inca doves, and white wing doves. Never seen a collared dove down here.
Looks like it has a body suit on that makes everything from head to toe smooth! LoL! =)
After a long absence we had a pair show up yesterday at the feeder. There must be somewhere better to go during summer. Texas?
Awe, that last shot had me chuckling.
I love to watch these! Listening is pleasurable too! Nice shots.
Beautiful pictures Tex! We love our Mourning Doves here but I have to say they don't seem to be the brightest birds in the bird world. They are so sweet though and love to hear their coocoocoo.
We've always called them morning doves around here. I seen a field of them the other day. It was a sight to see that many in one place.
I'm beginning to think you're importing birds just to impress us. We have lots of mourning doves here, but I don't think I've ever seen one of these black-collared beauties. Love the full-face immersion shot.
Coo, coo, coo.
My very favorite of birds. These are wonderful photos!
I love his little collar! You must have a good bird identifying book close by I swear!
What a pretty dove! I love the feather details in these photos.
such a gorgeous bird. kind of dainty isn't it?
Beautiful bird, seems to be contemplating best way to get a good drink, then jumps right in.
We have lots of mourning doves here in the summer and I love it when they get on a wire and coo-coo to other doves. Its such a sweet sound. Do these doves do that?Beautiful pics, T.Jo, Stella and Zkhat
Hey, you've stolen it, lol.
What a gorgeous dove and I love your close-ups!!
Oh neat, I am not sure if I ever seen a Eurasian Collared Dover before...how beautiful a bird this is, and how wonderful for it to have paid you a visit~
Ooohh, he's beautiful. The taupe colored feathers do it for me.
Ależ był spragniony. Kochane zdjęcia. Pozdrawiam. But he was thirsty. Loved the image. Yours.
Beautiful and sweet birdie! Great shots!
A fine dove series. My favorite is the one with his head in the water. Very cute shots.
I've seen these pretty birds here, but we mostly have the Mourning Doves. I love to listen to them. Nice shooting!
Beautiful bird and amazing photos!
Love the necklace!
Awwwww..... how sweet!
hij heeft wel heel erge dorst.
She looks like she's enjoying that swim. Me, I prefer not to climb into my drinks.
Although we have a dove season, none of our family could ever shoot or eat these beauties. Maybe the reason is in our mind, they stand for peace.Great photos...as always!
It is just soooo beautiful...always love doves. I have never seen one with the collar, though.
Love the last photo, hope he's holding his breath. Great shots T.
They are such sweet birds - doves and pigeons
These are such beautiful birds. It is a rare treat to see them around here.
the collar is a very distinctive and attractive marking.
Your pictures are so peaceful!Lovely dove!Greetings, Angela
Oh I like the last shot, where she's all dunked!
We have a bunch of them living down at the barn. I like listening to them! :)
T, they are so graceful!
I love these photos, especially the last one.
Looking at your last picture I'm thinking she sure was thirsty :)
If you just showed up one image, one might think that the bird belongs to the bird bath, made from the same material. Nice pictures! / Brita
he's really down in it isn't he? Reminds me of my kitty drinking from the faucet while standing in the sink.Appy Aloha Wishes! from HonoluluComfort Spiral ~ > < } } ( ° >> < 3 3 3 ( ' > ><}}(°> ~
Welcome to Tex!Beautiful photographic series.Eurasian pigeon is rather common bird
Finally, something I have around here. Love that last shot!
great photos of the Dove, he likes the water.peter
Hey, one I actually recognize ;-)
Great visit again....how many different birds you have at your pond and garden....
At last, one I also see in my garden:)Lovely photos!
Sweet. Much like a mourning dove.. but with a necklace.
Ah, just learned that it was a species introduced to the U.S. by way of the Bahamas, hence "Eurasian".
It is a pretty dove, it would be a new bird for me. Love the photos.
What a beautiful bird! Really dunking his face in that water!
What a beautiful bird!Great photos!Dimi..
Oh my goodness - such a beautiful bird, and so wonderfully captured!
Beautiful...but unbelievably fertile! What were once pairs here and there are now flocks. They have become a nuisance in populated areas because that's where they tend to live. The mourning doves can't compete with them. So although I once thought they were so special....not so much anymore!
Beautiful, Theresa!Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
I think she needs a shower curtain.
Oh I love that last shot. What awesome shots of that dove. Just beautiful.
Yep, THAT is a dove! And a beautiful one at that. Thanks for alerting me to my recent brain fart about calling a pigeon a mourning dove.
I love that he got all the way in - sandie
very cool t...i don't know if i have ever seen one of these!!i gets lots of doves, and i love them but never pay much attention as to any differences!!could you please straighten out that bird bath....please, for me?? hehe
I can almost hear that birdie thinking. Great job on these!
What a beautiful bird. Makes me wonder where our turtle doves went. Birds come and go and I forget about them.
Lots of doves here but haven't noticed if they have a collar.
Great shots! The last one looks like he's about to go snorkeling! :-)
Great shots of the Eurasian Collared Dove. I think we need a bird bath (and some feeders) to encourage the birds into our yard more!
I love doves...nice shots..
You gotta like a bird that goes all the way.
The Doves are so pretty, sweet and delicate. Even their sounds are gentle. :)
Beautiful pictures. I really enjoyed the last one.
Beautiful Dove, Theresa. Our Doves are gone right now... Not sure what happened to them --but haven't seen them in awhile.Hugs,Betsy
I have seen this type of dove here, but it's been a while back and I didn't get a picture. Rats! You got some wonderful shots! I particularly love the last one...he's getting a nice deep drink!
Hi Tex, I've been playing Rip Van Winkle for a while but when I come back I find your posts as great as ever. Great photos, thanks for sharing. John
One of the sweetest birds!Lovely sequence Theresa!
wow! beautiful bird, i first time seeing...thanks
I have never seen this dove in the wild. However, I had one as a pet and she died this spring at age 27 Unbelievable.I never took her picture. Don't know why except I was working up until 2 yeara go and I had basically put my camera away. She lived in a large cage on the porch until cold weather came and then she was a smaller cage in the house in the winter. In the summer I brought her indoors so I suppose good protection from weather changes and good food gave her a long life. She will always be remembered.
I had a couple of morning doves in my yard this summer but I never saw them use the bird bath. This one looks like he's sneaking up to his bath.
Wonderful and beautiful photos.
Pretty as it rests in your lop-sided birdbath.
Love that last photo! How long could she hold her breath? We have Morning Doves here, I find it funny that they pick the same spot on my roof to coo from.
Ohhh thank you for joining, T! =)
Boy in that last pic that guy sure is deep into the water. Those Doves are a pest in Eastern Wa. and are fair game. Now is that fair. They make a different call than other Dove's also. MB
I so love the Doves' gentle ways and their calls. Wonderful captures and I appreciate seeing this variety for the first time :D)
Just looks so soft I want to touch it. Love the shot of it with it's face in the water--LOL! :)
Great shots! Not all doves are the same:) Love that you found this beauty at the ranch:) Very cool bird.
aaaaaah, the peaceful (and thirsty) dove!!
