Hey Tex we have that bird bath, minus Skinny Chicken! Dang! Great series of Skinny Chicken. I find him very endearing and whimsical.
Perfect balance, right in the middle from head to tail for the "see saw action" for water!
What a personable fellow! Love this series of shots~
You can never take to many photos.I like Skinny chicken. B
Slurp-slurp. I reached down to pet T-Bob this morning and his whiskers and chin were wet from drinking from his water bowl.

He is so cute. Beep. Beep!
I second that- Beep, Beep! I wonder if Wilie Coyote is reading this. ??lol
Looks like a whole different bird when he fluffs up his feathers! lol =)
I love skinny chicken and didn't realize they had the color around their eyes! The one on your skylight is still my favorite - apparently he doesn't subscribe to being on the "road" as he should.
I guess the ACME water cooler was out of commission.Seriously, these are amazing shots. I love that colorful patch of feathers on his head.
"Skinny Chicken". Now thats funny!Such comical actions these birds make!

I love his long tail - very nice looking bird and thirsty too! sandie
He's one I could watch all day.
Thanks for the photos! I've never seen one in real life, unless you consider the one on The Bugs bunny show as real. With that long tail they look like an anemic magpie. :-}
Well, what a handsome bird he is. Nice photos too. Love the texture and the color. What kind of camera do you use and any special lens?
Beautiful / funny pictures you show a "skinny chiken"Thanks for your comment.I soon not know om to laugh or cry about the problems you having with my blog ........ but it's annoying!Hanne Bente
It's a chicken? :-)Very funny. My favorite is the last one
Holy Toledo - 500mm? That has got to be a load to lug around. And the Nilon d3100 is about as good as it gets but I am sure you are getting a d5100 for Christmas. How far away is that?

That tail is pretty good for balance, isn't it? Great series!
Ohhh... These are just too precious! I have never seen a road runner before. Thirsty little bugger.
I enjoyed scrolling down these pictures to give the series a time-lapse feel. Excellent pictures of this bird with the unusual tail feathers.
Love these guys. I wonder if anyone ever had one as a pet raised from a chick.
You can never take too many pictures of a cutie like this. Doesn't he have lovely colours around his eyes!
Some great captures here of your roadrunner. I have never noticed that little orange dot on their heads. Fun shots!!
And a character he is! I love these shots so much. You captured such a funny little guy. His expressions made me smile which I desperately needed today.
Great detail, must be a girl with all that eye shadow and eye liner.
I'm in love with these birds and all these pictures are such a treat! As I'm looking, I couldn't help this thought: TexWisGirl must keep her office windows really, really clean at all times. A reminder that mine need to be done.
If it were possible, I would have tried to nudge the bird so that it'd fall flat on its face in the water. I'm just nice that way.
Theresa, you always come thru for me. My thanks for the yellow-rumped warbler ID.
He is a unique looking bird. I like the colours around the eye area.
Meep, meep! Great series! I am looking forward to seeing one of those cool dudes in person one of these days.

Beep! Beep!!!Oh, he is quite the handsome fellow, even if he is a little different from the normal bird.
Never seen a bird such as this. Very interesting. Beautiful take.
He is a character. Sometimes it looks like he's listening so intently. He'd kill you if he knew you took his picture with all his feathers ruffled up!!! Great shots, lucky you noticed him in time to get them.
They seem to be a very active bird and so you get many interesting poses.
oh, i love the views where he fluffs up his head feathers. so cool!! (:
That's awesome! I don't think I've actually seen a roadrunner before ( well, except the cartoon variety...)
You got some great shots of this bird. I remember someone being on the sky light in your kitchen. Was it this character??:) The coloring is so beautiful next to the eyes.

Excellent!!! For me, I would never picture in my mind that they'd stop by for a drink of water....only running through the desert brush or running from Wylie the Coyote.

You captured the little bit of gorgeous orange and blue around his eyes. The bright green background is perfect for this otherwise greyish bird... but NOTHING can compete with his quirky personality. Love him. (or her?)
