You caught the shots that showed how these guys got their names. A dear friend tried to explain the "rule of thirds" in photography to me. Is this what you were using in these compositions?

Great shots!! The flycatchers are one of my favorites, because anything that will eat a bug is a hero in my book! :-)

I love the little claw clinging to the wire

i was staring at your header and thinking how much i like it when i realized there was a tab for your husband. i howled with laughter at the blogger enabler. that fits bob to a tee. i was telling him yesterday i saw a camera that i really want. he said buy it i said i have 3 cameras, i don't need it. he said buy it anyway.
then i read your about you and i could copy and paste every word into my blog about me and it is identical...except for one point. i read fiction every day of my life, at least 2 or 3 hours a day. other than that and age we are totally alike. and of course WEIGHT, wish i looked like you and not just act like you

Evelyn S. said...

I should check in on of my bird books to see if this bird is related to any bird in this part of Oregon. The body type looks similar to the Purple Martin, but maybe not to the length of the tail.

110 comments! I haven't seen this kind of response since 2005! Lucky you!! My Aunt turned 93. As a kid staying at her house one day, I looked up and saw a bird on a telephone wire and told my Aunt that I wondered what he was thinking. She told me that the biord was probably doing the same thing--wondering what I was thinking too!
