The New Watery Wednesday

Great Egret spies woman with a camera.
 Chooses to fly further away.
To continue hunting from the far side of things.
Green Heron just hunts from the fence panel. Although that's quite a reach.

Nice egret shot! The heron was simply going to use a WWE move from the ropes! LOL! Some of us have to expend fuel and waste time driving to places to photograph this stuff. :-)

These big birds are so spectacular. There supposed is a group of egrets nesting just adjacent to our property across the bayou. A neighbor has promised to take me looking for them in his four-wheeler! Can't wait.

Great photos of the Egret. We have them all over here now.. but my lense is doesnt allow me to get closer shots. Your Egret looks as though it's neck is longer than the one's we have here.
I know that it is thanksgiving there in the US.. wishing you a happy time with your family Theresa.
best wishes val

You have all wonders of water fowl around there--I just never think about them in Texas. Maybe Louisiana, but for some reason Texas just brings to mind miles and miles of flat land sprinkled with mesquite trees and cows. :D

Gail Dixon (Louisiana Belle) said...

These are great!! The wingspan on the one you scared off is so pretty. I guess Tricia must still be sick since I don't see a post, but it might be too early yet. Hope she's feeling better soon.

Gillian Olson said...

Love the egret. They seem to be nervous creatures, flying away just before I get a good picture of them. The green heron is an interesting looking bird although not as elegant as an egret.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Your egret and Green Heron are fortunate that the lady with the camera is a nature lover who shares the treasures she finds with all of us. Our appreciation for the world around us is enhanced and all benefit from that renewed awareness.

That water sure is mossy. Is it stagnant? Do you have a lot of skeeters around your place? I love the shot of him gliding along...makes me wish I had wings...it looks fun and effortless...but then most professionals make what they do look effortless....kinda' like you taking all these great pictures! Happy Thanksgiving, fellow Texan...and watch out for all the mesquite trees and cows! lol
