He's just the tweetest thing EVER!!!! I have never seen a bird like that. Please tell him to fly down my way so I can meet him!!! He's just so darn cute!!!
I LOVE bluebirds. We had one that lived near our market garden. He would slip inside any open vehicle window so he could look at himself in the rear view mirror. I thought it was incredibly cute, but often required clean up.
Hi Teresa...Aw those beautiful babies!! Lovely shot!! I'm be watching the ones I have here that are not supposed to be this time of year...birds know best ; )! I think I am going to be able to publish this Yeah!!! Grace
Oh I think I recognize him from the house out back. I guess I will see him in the spring again when you send him back after his vacation.. I love them Great shot. B
What a handsome fellow. I had to look up their range because it seemed odd that a bird with "Eastern" in its name would be found in Texas. I was surprised to learn that their range does extend that far west.
He's sure a pretty little boy! We have quite a few bluebirds right now and with these warm temps they'll probably start getting their nests ready for spring.
I like this shot of the blue bird. He's got such a beautiful blue head. Good composition with him the sole bird in the shot. It works for me! Very good.
This is the sweetest little bluebird. We have a monster one in our yard, but I can never get a view of it in flight. Would love to see if its belly is similar to this one. The blue is beautiful. SO GLAD TO BE BACK! genie
I love love love bluebirds. We always have a family in the bluebird house under our porch. They're such sweet birds. ALthough sometimes they dive bomb Cort when he gets too close. I try not to laugh.
And in another 7 or 8 weeks we could see blue birds here. They arrive the end of march no matter what the weather is. I won't be able to get a picture like yours.
The bluebird is my favorite. If you haven't put a house for them to nest try hard to get a few up. Attach a metal flange at the bottom of the box and weld a small metal pole to the flange. make sure the box is built so that you can either swing out the front or one side to that the boxes can be cleaned of sparrows or starlings that migh try to build. I had a book with good plans but lent it and never got it back. Forgot who borrowed the book. Any how you wire the metal post to a fence post very securely with good wire." Then standing on a short step ladder, apply boat grease all around the pole and up to the bottom where the flange is. House must be built for bluebirds. Can't remember hole diameter but it should be too small for a starling to enter. Let me know if you have boxes up or not. The birds really do need extra help to increase their numbers. In the 70's I put up around 70 boxes out in various areas of the countyside. It was hard to find suitable habitat for the boxes. Love this photo. So pretty.
Pretty Bluebird! Right now they come in large groups to gather berries still remaining on trees and bushes. They very seldom get close enough to the home this time of year though, to get any nice captures~

Morning, what a beautiful Bluebird picture to brighten my day, Thanks Francine.
So cute!
Oh blue bird sing to me
the song, you know,
the one that tells us
of how you see us
from above.
sing to us sweet, sweet
blue bird of how
beautiful tree tops look
how you must squeeze between
the sky and mountain tops
chant the song
where rivers flow
and the moon beams
kiss the sea
tell us how the sun
unveils the day
for mankind to play
but oh sweet blue bird
remind us if we
don't take care of
what your eyes see
we will not hear
you sing your verse
your song
oh sweet sweet blue bird
The cutest little blue bird Tex.
You are so lucky that these birds stop on their travels in your garden.
happy days

Bluebirds in general are such pretty little things but the eastern ones are really cool with the added color!
What a handsome fellow. I had to look up their range because it seemed odd that a bird with "Eastern" in its name would be found in Texas. I was surprised to learn that their range does extend that far west.
