Wow ! Great shots of this beautiful & graceful predator. Is it the same hawk on the tree stump as well up in the tree? I always find it difficult to differentiate between hawks & falcons :)

He's a beauty. That last shot looks like he is saying "you got a mouse in your pocket?"

Wayne (Woody), whatever said...

I'd have to be at the receiving end of his attention in that last shot, looks like he's focused on his next meal - very intense emotions!

Small City Scenes said...

Nice shots. We have a pretty little Hawk lingering in the pear tree near the bird feeders occasionally. He leaves and the little birds come right back. MB

He's gorgeous! I just saw one in my neighbor's oak tree trying to take our front yard Mama and one of her youngsters. I was screaming and freaking out! It didn't get either one, but the youngster went into shock for about fifteen minutes! Mama was doing her mad cry. :) I like to see them flying with their baby. It's so beautiful!

Today, I saw 3 hawks perched on post and poles as I drove the last 4 miles to home. As soon as I passed one, I would think, "I should have pulled over to take a photo!" However, I didn't. I don't know what kind they are, but someday soon, I'll capture an image with the idea of learning what they are.

Jackie said...

These are just awesome shots. I am still a newbie at this and I would love to get some shots like these.

I did get a hawk last week but no where near this close up. I am watching his territory though and waiting to see if I can get a better picture.

Wow...thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures with us. I hope your weekend is going well! :-)

petspeopleandlife said...

Nice hawk pics. There is a pair of reds in my immediate area. I stopped feeding the birds because I didn't want to make the hawks hunting easier. They were creating havoc on the doves.
