Beautiful bird with a nasty voice. so pretty and yet so aggressive. They OWN the feeder!
he looks like he was giving you The Look in one of these. i like the ones where he looks a little ruffled up
Love his swimsuit! He's definitely a beauty. :-)
Blue Jays are so common around here that it's easy to take them for granted. But they are an exceptionally beautiful bird, aren't they? Your photos have really captured that, and I've had so much fun admiring Mr. Jay through them.
They can be stinkers, but there is no bird more beautiful against the backdrop of winter's snows! Thanks for the great Blue Jay pictures!Jo in MN
Looks like he knew you were photographing...and was giving you a look!
Hi Tex, Another great series, and, as I've said before, you're the best at this! I love birds of all colors but the ones with blue feathers are special favorites. John

I like those last two shots with the head feathers standing up! LOL! We have a couple of these noisy things at the feeders. They can gulp quite a few seeds at once.
I totally love those photos! You did a great job capturing something different.
We have our share of cardinals both at the ranch and here in town but I've never seen a blue bird.
Pretty, pretty! :)xoxo

A fine series of this beautiful bird who likes his baths.I especially like the attitudes he's displaying and your capture of them.
He seems to sense someone is watching him take a bath! :)Lovely series!
Oh my - how lovely are these!?
I always think about Native American blankets and baskets and how I think they must have looked at this bird's beautiful feather patterns and copied them in their weaving. He's such a wonderful bird. (We have scrub jays and they aren't anywhere near as lovely!).
These pictures make bluejays look like nice birds!
He looks fantastic! Love all those colours on his wings, very smart!
Very lovely bird.
Beautiful! I have been trying to capture the four that have been swooping in and out of my trees for the past week. No luck! Glad you did. :)
I love the next to last shot, he seems to be asking if you are done taking his photo. There are no Blue Jays here and I miss having them around.
Such cool birds. Not sure he looks too happy with his picture being taken while bathing.

T, great shots! Blue Jays are such stunning birds! We don't get them out here on the coast, but I grew up with them when we lived on the prairies!
The Bluejay is making himself to look good, maybe it is a girl!!!!
Title and pics quite thrilling! Aloha Tex

I love him Mr. Blue jeans..You have 969 followers..from left to right from right to left!! Cool!
Nice looking blue jay. My older brother who lives in northern California just sent me a photo on Facebook of the new blue jay feeder he just put up in his backyard. He loved blue jays.
Happy bathtime Mr. Bluejay! Hey, after your squirrel meat comment I came across a fun song and thought of you! It's #2 on my songlist, have a listen and a laugh!

Love love the colors of this fellow and the way he's swishing around. Great captures.
He must have known you were nearby Theresa. Handsome fellow.Felicia
Beautiful bird! They are tough too, I once saw a blue jay pin a smaller bird down, and then fly off with it. Yikes!
Gosh what an attitude. He is a really pretty guy.
absolutely fabulous; the colours and markings are SO attractive
One step at a time...!
Fun series! I love blue jays. He gets a little disheveled there in the bath... happens to the best of us!
Mr. "GQ" of the bird world... and they know it.
Let's try a bath in the winter.
i love the next to the last shot, too funny =)
I've always thought the jays were pretty, even if they are pesky sometimes. Great captures!
We never seen Blue Jays around here, only Mexican Jays. I love them, but miss the crested blues! These are great shots!
He has beautiful markings.
Dearest Theresa,Wow, what a beautiful Blue Jay♡♡♡I would love to see the cutie for a long time. He or she has dignified looking and they all have kind tendency to see towards you for photo session(^_^)vPS> thank you very much for the sweet comment. It meant a lot for me.Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to my American photographer friend, xoxo Miyako*
"I just washed my hair and can't do a THING with it!" lol He's so handsome....and I REALLY DO WANT IT...I WANT IT...I WANT IT!!!
What a pretty Blue! Nice captures of the wing positions and turning head, and fluffing. :)
Fantastiska naturbilder du har här på din blogg. Ha en skön söndag.
Do bluejays sing (squawk) in the shower? Thanks for sharing your great photos.
Wow! How beautiful... Just steals the heart :)Lovely series of photos.
It is interesting to compare your Blue Jay to our Eurasian Jay. They are both so beautiful. The Eurasian Jay imitates a lot of sounds, like machines, cats or -mine- the buzzard.
Gorgeous!!! They're all super images to be sure, but the 2nd to the last one, with it's crowning feathers and how he's turned to look into the camera...I LOVE it.
What wonderful photos of that handsome bluebird! I hope Mrs. Bluebird enjoyed a spa treatment that day as well. (She was probably busy checking out construction sites for their new home this spring!) :-) We don't have Bluejays around here, but I always enjoyed their beautiful color and talkative ways when I shared their habitats in the past, and find it so interesting that their blue color comes not from any pigment in their feathers (which is brown melanin), but rather by scattering light through cells on the surface of their feather barbs!
Aren't they just the "spunkyist" little guys. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
For me, being outside would be less than perfect without the blue of the jay and his raucous call!Great shots of bath time!
Lovely photos of the blue jay!
Gorgeous looking bird.
Awesome series of shots!
Very nice assortment of views of this very handsome bird!
I gotta say. He looked better before his bath. LOL. Terrific pics!
Oh Beautiful Blue Jay!!! Oh those colors! Thank you!
What a moment! They have beautiful feathers and colours, and his crest is awesome!
Great pictures! Look at all those different shades of blue! And I love that furry head, too. :)
He looks to have his spring colors -- showing off a little for the camera. :)
He's such a beautiful guy! Love these photos of him!
Oh my gosh! He is gorgeous. I think you should draw him....
Fantastic photos of a beautiful bird! We have a lot of nice scenery where I live, but there really isn't any colorful birds.
