These birds are much bigger than I thought. Excellent photos Theresa.
Hey now everybody, have you heard? Theresa's gonna post about a mockingbird. And if that mockingbird can't fly, she's gonna take it to a private eye....
A Mockingbird has been singing so many pretty songs out near the barn where my horses live. They are wonderful to have around.
The bird looks tiptop with strip feathers! The last two pictures are enjoyable quite :)

Awe, this made my day. I love the bath shot!
Isn't it too cold for a bath?
I enjoy watching these but enjoy it more when they are quiet.Great photos as always!!!
Mocking birds are such brave birds, and so lovely and their songs, just simply enchanting. We have a current resident bird that I promise plans to eat a few rotten Crabapples that are left clinging to the tree next door, every day until they are gone, and without interference from any other bird, joining in, if it has the say so. So far the Mockingbird is winning~
We have never seen a mocking bird. We get to see some many new things up close on your blog. Looking forward to skinny chicken when he surfaces again. Have a terrific Tuesday.Best wishes Molly
So love watching birds in the bath and have never seen a mockingbird so this was cool.

Nice series. No Mockingbirds in my area. Guess that is a good thing.
Mockingbirds are among my favorites. I love hearing them go through their repertoire, and they're especially beautiful in flight. Loved this series. Now I have to wipe those pesky water droplets off my monitor.
They look as dry coming out as they do going in!
That Mocking Bird really is lovely. From Findlay
Nice pics...did he wake you with his singing???
What a spectacular surprise dive that was after waiting...waiting...A song from way back (along with The Yellow Rose of Texas) was Mockingbird Hill. And that's all I knew of the mockingbird...

Love this series! I don't think I've ever actually seen a bird bathe in a bird bath - in fact, I'm a little surprised that it actually went in head first!
Great series, I always love the splish splashing! Beautiful shots of the Mocker!
I had to laugh at the Titmouse! Mockingbirds look kinda mean, anyway, and even more so after a bath! LOL!
Fun pics of the birds.
Nice captures of this territorial bird! Splish-splash I was taking a bath!
Your 100th comment: (if I hurry up):You are so brilliant! Thank you for the i.d. help on my blog. I'm looking at the female hawks in flight page, and the Rough-legged Hawk i.d. fits perfectly.Have to add, those Turkey Vulture are amazing!
I love the mocking bird. They are so clever and commical and I love their varied song. We don't get them up here that often ... when I lived in Champaign/Urbana, they were always around. I miss them. Thanks for the great pictures.Andrea @ From The Sol
I love the playful splashing! You two match (your side photo - which is lovely btw :)
Great sequence! I have never seen one of these birds, although I think they're around.
nice! I grew up in S Texas, and spent a few winters in N Texas a decade ago... i miss those birdies! - The Equestrian Vagabond
How cute is that! I could use a bath like that!
sleek fellow!Sending YOU Aloha from Honolulu, Comfort Spiral ~ > < } } ( ° >
Your animals sure do seem to show off for you when you get near with a camera....I love the splashing around in the water photo....so cute and precious....
That bird sure knows how to kick up that water. The cats in our neighborhood hog the bird bath. Susie would prefer to drink there then the fresh water I give her.
These are so great! I love the birds together, the bee and my all time favorite...bath time!!! I just think it's so cute when birds bathe! :)
Dearest Theresa,Oh my this Northern Mockingbird looks like NEW! They are like pets, we one year (before we had cats) tamed one, together with a reddish squirrel and a brown thrasher to come up the steps to the veranda. Than over the threshold into the veranda and closer to the kitchen... Feeding them nuts and sunflower seeds etc. When Mom & Dad had their first breakfast with us, I opened the door and called them all in: Mocky etc. Dad said he knew he was awake but he almost had to pinch himself for not believing what he saw! Yes, you can tame a lot of birds and animals. We love them!Hugs to you,Mariette
ours are all fighting like crazy. I just hope they run the blue jays off. Noisy things. I sit and watch all of the bird drama going on right now. There is so much you would think it is spring.
Looks like a happy day for the birds!!!
Guess he wanted the bath to himself.
What a polite fellow, he waited until everyone else was gone so he wouldn't splash them. Great pics!
They are so cute......
Phenomenal, I hope it sang for you.
Ahhh... These photos make me smile.Hugs~
These are really good. I have a very few and of course all I had to shoot with was an 18mmm-200mm canon so my shots are not very good. Images are too small. One day though if I live long enough i'll have a 400mm or even 500mm lens. You did a good job on the mocker. Beautiful iamges.
Adorable post...love the bee!
This made my day! I love how they get all fluffed out, then take the plunge, and pop up like nothing happened.
Hi, Theresa...what a magnifcent set of photos. Great!Have a nice dayBS
Kisses, and hugs

Such a cute series!
What a great splash on the 8th pic. So cool!
Oh my as a native Texan it always warms my heart to see a Mockingbird and you certainly have shown him at his best!I am jealous but I am so glad you got these shots! I also can't believe I just now started following your blog. I thought I did that ages ago!I hope you're having a good week. I know I would be if I had those shots!!
OMG!! Love, love that shot of the splashing!! :)
thank you for these refreshing pictures.splashing!
A very charming photo story of birds visiting your water "fountain". We've had bitter cold and snow for the last week so I've been trying to feed and water the birds. They like whole grain Ezekial bread and orange slices. Don't have a waterer so am using Chet's "I am not a hog" food bowl.
Really serious about that bath! Did he get your lens wet? ~Lindy
Dearest Theresa,Wow, what a wonderful shots of Northern Mockingbird♡♡♡ My husband I loved or adored her satisfied looking face of hers after she bathed(*^_^*) The shot of the splash is SO wonderful, my photographer friend♬♬♬Thank you very much for the cute photos as usual.Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako
