Maybe we could get trash cans like these for the bird seed. Our problem is the varmints turn over everything we try - even when tied down - and then we have an expensive mess. Right now it is all in the house, and it is attracting the indoor farmhouse critters we do NOT like. The view from the top of the house must be heavenly. Take a picture from up these for me and post it. Liked your idea of the "doggie cattle guard". Pretty clever. genie
